Steemit is a wonderful platform which has provided well nurtured individuals with the opportunity to share their opinions, talents or skills with the world. Well, not only does the platform give you the opportunity to share, it also makes sure you're rewarded for being good at it. This is known as the "proof of brain concept".
In a good community like this, we may still find the word called plagiarism when a user's content is not original.
What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism can be defined as the presentation of another creator or authors work as your own.
Plagiarism is not accepted anywhere in the world. Steemit has sets of rules and guidelines to curb and deplete plagiarism, so the community can be safe and fair to everyone. The platform also has a community, Mosquito Squishers, which is there to investigate and curb this action.
How do Steemit users make reference to great works?
When I mean great works, this is a work you see somewhere, online probably, you love it and just need to pick a few ideas to make your content cooler. I mean, it's not a bad thing to do that but we should never forget to cite our source.
Citing is simply giving credit to the source.
To cite, we can use the > markup or the conventional quotes (""). Examples
"Whole oats are high in antioxidants and beneficial plant compounds called polyphenols. Most notable is a unique group of antioxidants called avenanthramides, which are almost solely found in oats." Source
For the markup citation,

If you click on the link "source" it would take to the site I gathered the quoted information from.
We need to know that a post with citation shows how professional the author is.
