How does voting and curation work?

When a post is uploaded on the steemit blockchain the person who uploaded the post is known as the author and the people you vote the post either upvote or downvote are known as curators.
To up vote a post you simply click the green upward facing arrow beneath the post and to down load a post you click the downward facing arrow beneath the post.

Steemit blockchain rewards it's users for creating content or voting content in the form of steem,SBD and Tron.
Post are being paid out after 7 days and the rewards is shared 50/50 between author of content and curators.

what happens when you vote a post between 5 minutes of posting.

Voting a post within 5 minutes of posting willing lead to lossing som partial benefits. This reward lost goes to the reward pool.
The earlier a vote is made on a post the higher the rewards lost.

If the vote is made within one minute then the only 20 % of the reward will be earned. If the vote made within 2 minutes then 40% of the reward will be earned. If it made within 3 minutes after posting then 60% of the reward will be earned as just like the others the remain percentage lost will be sent to the reward pool.
If a vote is made 4 minutes after a post then only 80% of the reward will be earned so as such 20 percent will be lost. But if the vote is made 5 minutes or more after posting then all the full reward will be earned

Witnesses are people who have been elected by communities to help create blocks. They receive steem power as their reward for every block created.

Joining a community in steem is simply based on individual involved and various other criteria.

For instance new comers are expected bro join new comers community and steem misery in other to get oriented on how to go about steemit also mentors guide and direct them on which community to join.
Also if the want to share knowledge and skills they can as well join certain communities like steem crypto acedemy and skillshare..we can also join in other to participate in contest or achievement task an gain rewards.
