Here is my achievement #3

What is Plagiarism

plagiarism is to steal and pass off others' thoughts or vocabulary as one's own. Simply put, plagiarism is the act of taking the words and/or ideas of other people and saying they are your own. plagiarism is the practice of using the work of someone else and claiming that it is your own.

Plagiarism is, at its heart, an ethical problem. With the hope of gaining from the theft, a writer submitting plagiarized work is committing theft.

TYPES OF PLAGIRISM

SELF PLAGIARSM

It means reusing work that you have submitted previously. Although it's your own job, since you've already received credit for the work, it's considered deceptive to present a paper or a piece of data as brand fresh.

MOSAIC PLAGIARSM

Copying and bringing together words, passages and ideas from various sources in order to construct a new text. This means rephrasing passages slightly while retaining much of the same words and structure as the original.

VERBATIM PLAGIARSM

When you directly copy the text from the source and paste it into your own document without assignment. If the grammar and the majority of the words are the same as in the source, then it is verbatim plagiarism, even if you delete or modify a few words here and there.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARSM

CITE THE SOURCE

In your writing, add a quotation that identifies the full name of the source, and any other citation feature that is needed by the style guide you adhere to when referring to an idea or wording that is not your own.

PARAPHRASING

Paraphrasing is rewriting the ideas or knowledge of a source into your own terms, without altering its context. But be careful — paraphrasing can fall into plagiarism if done incorrectly.

PRESENT YOUR OWN IDEAS

Instead of parroting the thoughts or words of the source, discuss what you have to say about it. Tell yourself what a new viewpoint or point you may add to your writing that is completely your own. Bear in mind that if you refer to the ideas or words of a source to frame your own point, you will also need to apply the above guidelines to prevent plagiarization.

USE A PLAGIRAISM CHECKER

While doing your research on the topic, some sentences or phrases can stick so well with you that you can accidentally include them in your writing without a quotation. If in doubt, using an online plagiarism search tool will help you catch up with these issues before submitting your work.

USE BLACK QUOTE FOR CITATION

If you want to copy something then it's necessary to provide a cite. For this simply put > before pasting the material you want and mention the author so it won't count as a plagiarized work.

for instance

With faith, discipline and selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worthwhile that you cannot achieve.(Quaid e Azam)

HOW TO CITE AN IMAGE

If you want to use a non licensed image for your work, it's necessary to provide a cite. You can simply add a source before the code of image.

for instance

It will look like this.

The Steemit Team

This is a good attempt on the achievement 3 task @vvarishayy, thank you for explaining the various types of plagiarism.

Also include some markup for the citations such as the blockquotes and blockquote citation.

For example;

Blockquote

Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you have to keep moving forward.
~Albert Einstein

This is done by doing this on a fresh line: >Life is like riding a bicycle to keep your balance you have to keep moving forward.
~Albert Einstein

To cite an image source;
[source](put the link of the cite here)

Blockquote citation

Researchers have long been aware of the potential for apple consumption to support balanced populations of bacteria in our lower digestive tract." Source

Visit this document for the markdown on how to do that.

Please do that so that I can upvote your post.

Yeah I have done ✅ looking forward for your support ☺️
