Steemit password. Achievement 2 post
Whatever we call password should be kept save and secure and that's even the first step that you would take when you register on steemit. Before you log into steemit, you would log into steemit wallet and it is inside the wallet you would find different keys like posting key 🔑, private posting key etc.
Below are the questions I'll answer to know the steemit security
Have you obtained and saved your steemit password
Yes I've obtained the steemit security and saved my password, I was warned to keep my Master key and not trusting it with anyone because it's only with the master key I can have other keys and change other keys. Other keys like posting key can be given out but Master mustn't be given to anyone and I've saved my master key where it can't be accused by anyone
Do you know the functions and restrictions of the keys
Yes I know the functions of the keys. There are; Posting key, active key, owner key, memo key and public key*
The work of Master key is to change, recover key or generate another key
Posting key This is useful for social posting, making comment and then upvote. But it is not able to use for monetary actions. So you can't lose anything if someone have it.
Active key is useful for more transferring and exchanging tokens. So it's advice to keep it and don't just give it out or put it in a website or application that you don't trust
Owner key have the power to change all keys; if you've given your key out, you can change it instantly before things goes in a way you don't want it
Memo key The only Memo Key usefulness is to encrypt and decrypt private messages that are sent with the blockchain and people don't really use it now
Public keys are connected with usernames. Public keys doesn't required login on Steemit.com and you don't need to save it.
How do you keep your master key save
I plan to keep my Master key in a place where no one can access it. Although it's a long character that contain upper case, lower case and numbers and can't be written down because mistake would definitely occur when i need it and it it's not save online like email draft incase someone access the email or hacked, best place to save it is on computer or device that can save passwords; where no one can even think it is
Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user ?
Yes I know how to transfer the token to anyone steem account. Just go to wallet, then go click on the small down arrow beside steem
Choose who to transfer it to and send with your active or master key key
Do you know how to perform power up process in steem?
Yes I do, it's just few steps
Go to wallet, click on the down arrow beside the steem and you'll see an option.
Click on power up and enter the amount of steem you want to power up
