Having gone through achievement 3 post I understood about plagiarism, citation and sourcing both images and text.

What Do I described as plagiarism?

University of Oxford says

"plagiarism is presenting someone else's work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement."source

It's actually means trying to own one's piece of work and not acknowledging them for it.
This act is wrong and unacceptable because it defeats the whole essence of being original and unique. And also it reduces the worth of your post making people get bored when it occurs consistently.

On the other hand, when you cite the original source, you gain trust and this makes you look professional. Everyone likes it when you try to show them where they could read up more on a particular subject. So rather than plagiarise, go professional. Let people know when it's not your work. Even the writer will learn to appreciate you for that.

It's obvious the internet is full of works of thousands of persons. And every topic has work load of articles on it. That shouldn't stop you from being original. And when you researching, try not to pick irrelevant lines or statements.

Types of plagiarism
There are different types of plagiarism, I will only list them here and the drop a link to where you can know the full explanation of each.
These are:

  • Mosaic or patchwork plagiarism.
  • Paraphrasing plagiarism.
  • Complete plagiarism.
  • Self-plagiarism.
  • Accidental plagiarism.
  • Source-based plagiarism.
  • Direct or verbatim plagiarism.source

To avoid plagiarism always be original and cite whoever/whatever work you picked up. That makes you a great writer.
Aside plagiarism the Steemit Etiquette is also something to abide in, it's really interesting to know that such rules are laid out for the smooth operation of Steemit Community.

Lastly "I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them."
