Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the process of using and taking someone's work or ideas as one's own original work and refusing to acknowledge the owner of the work. This is to say when blogging and when using blogging terms, one uses the blog of others as their original blog. Thus taking the work content of an author and using it as your own original work.
Types of plagiarism
There are so many forms and ways in which plagiarism comes. Some of them may include
- Self plagiarism
- paraphrasing plagiarism
- Global plagiarism
- verbatim plagiarism
Self plagiarism
This type of plagiarism involves the reuse of one's own work which already has being earlier submitted
Paraphrasing plagiarism
This is a type of plagiarism which involves rephrasing the work ideas of another but with acknowledgement thus citing the source
Global plagiarism
This type of plagiarism deals with the using of an entire work of another person as your original work. This is a very severe and a very dangerous type of plagiarism.
Verbatim plagiarism
This type of plagiarism simply deals with one copying directly a passage of text from another person's work but not Citi the source.
The effects of plagiarism
- It brings about failure
- It leads to laziness in an individual
- It can lead to imprisonment
- It leads to suspension
- It leads to low grades in work.
Citation
Citation simply refers to bringing the awareness of readers that some ideas from your work are not from you but different sources.
Thus acknowledging the owners of certain ideas one took from different sources.

Chicago style
Conclusion
Plagiarism is not a good act and we all must try our best to stop doing it. It is very important we cite the ideas which are not ours, in other words giving credit and acknowledgement to the original owner.
