Hello Steemit family

I will confess to you all; I am enjoying myself on this platform; though all these tasks are not new to me, I could say I am pretty much familiar with them, but this is another level of understanding. A Few years ago, when I started my freelancing services, some copied my content from my website and sold it online; this creates many problems for me that year. So yes, I know more about plagiarism and the effect it has on someone. Let begin.

"It is our choices... that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."

Etiquette is defined by Wikipedia as follows: "Etiquette is a rule of conduct that guides expectations for social behavior within a society, social class, or group based on current conventional norms.
Although most etiquette rules are unwritten, some components of Etiquette have been defined at times. Though the term "etiquette" is not widely used, it encompasses most areas of social interaction in any civilization. A rule of Etiquette may represent a person's fashion or rank, or it may reflect an underlying ethical code."
Interacting online differs significantly from interacting in person, making it more competitive and challenging to explain who you are and what you do. In this highly public arena, we must be very conscious of promoting ourselves and our material. The importance of Netiquette has never been greater!

The best policy is to be honest:

  • If it hasn't occurred to you, someone you know has most likely experienced it.
  • Copying another person's work, words, or images verbatim.
  • Plagiarism.
  • It happens daily.
  • Sometimes it's on purpose, and sometimes it's not.
It isn't easy to look at someone who appears to have it all together and not feel compelled to take inspiration from them. It's a lot better than starting with a blank page and a hazy idea. Right? Wrong! But there are more causes than you might imagine... but I'd want to talk about plagiarism, which appears to be the most common problem on the internet.

Plagiarism is widely acknowledged as a poor concept, as it is unethical, unfair, and just wrong. It can also get a writer in many difficulties, so be sure the information you create is your own. That is a common assumption made by everyone.

Plagiarism is defined as

You may believe that plagiarism entails taking someone else's words (in their whole) and claiming them as your own by claiming authorship of the content. Plagiarism can be defined in a variety of ways. However, there are levels of subtlety in the definition of plagiarism that you may not have considered. There are various ways to plagiarize someone else's work, and you may not even be aware of it. It's critical to have a clear understanding of plagiarism to detect if you're plagiarizing unintentionally. You can fix yourself if you are conscious of what you are doing.

*When you plagiarize someone else's words verbatim, letter for letter, without crediting them to that person, Its called Verbatim plagiarizing
*When you take someone else's content and use a portion of it (or "massage" the language) while also incorporating some of your own words. You'll add someone else's words to your material since yours aren't good enough (in your estimation), its called Partially plagiarizing.
*Modifications to some of the content: The reality is that if any of the words in your material are identical to those in the content of another person, you have plagiarized. That is, without a doubt, unacceptable. Your words must be your own.
*Plagiarism occurs when you take someone else's content and use any portion of it closely. That implies you can't copy any aspect of what they wrote, including the article's structure. Everything must be original and one-of-a-kind, its called Using the concepts.

Plagiarism's several drawbacks.
When you create content, you're sharing something unique to you, your company, and your brand. If you plagiarize, you deprive yourself of your individuality. As you must realize, you are developing trustworthiness, credibility, and portraying yourself when a subject matter expert establishes relationships with your online connections. When you plagiarize, you are undermining all of those characteristics. It simply isn't worth the money you'll have to spend. The way other people see you online (and in-person) is crucial to your business's success. If you come out as someone who they can't trust, they won't want to conduct business with you, and you'll be done before you ever start. It's important to remember that you can utilize other people's words as long as you credit them to them. When it comes to plagiarism, content scraping is another stumbling block. Scraping content is essentially non-human plagiarism that is done automatically. People that utilize scraped content almost certainly did not obtain authorization from the authors of the original content.

Finally

Plagiarism is unethical on all levels. You can borrow ideas from other writers, but you must make sure that the words you use in your material are all your own. You must create online material that is distinctive, new, compelling, and original so that others may learn from it. Several plagiarism software products can identify plagiarism from a technological standpoint. It's a good idea to look into things to ensure that your content is legal. You must immediately deal with both situations if you have plagiarized accidentally or someone else has plagiarized from you.
