Hello steemians.......
After going through "The Complete Steemit Etiquette Guide (Revision 2.0) - Homage",

and after doing some other personal studies, I have come to understand the word plagiarism, what it means and it's implications.

Plagiarism simply means the publication and presentation of another's work, ideas or writings as your own. This could involve copying and pasting without mentioning any form of reference or source. In ignorance, I happened to have once copied and pasted a write up from Google and submitted as an assignment for a course without really seeing it as being bad. Plagiarism is considered a crime punishable by law.

How Do We Plagiarise??
There are various ways which people can use to plagiarize work. Some of these could be intentional actions or unintentional actions. However, it still remains unethical and is punishable.

Direct Plagiarism.

Direct plagiarism is a situation in which someone copies the work or ideas of another person word-for-word and presents as their own. This is unethical and morally wrong and is subject to punishment and sanction.

Self Plagiarism.

Self plagiarism is an aspect where one uses his own work twice. For instance, a student could use a previous piece of assignment to submit for a current assignment without permission from the tutors involved. In such a case, it could be concluded that, that particular student is just acting out of laziness.

Mosaic Plagiarism.

Mosaic Plagiarism, also known as"patch writing" is a kind of plagiarism that occurs when a person paraphrases or copies some keywords from someone's work while maintaining the original sense without noting the source. It can also be done by using synonyms in place of keywords. It is also unethical and deserves caution.

Accidental Plagiarism.

Accidental plagiarism occurs in a situation where a person forgets to mention their source or misquotes the source. It could be unintentionally misspelled.

What happens to plagiarized work???
Copying someone's work as your own is not only morally bad but is also detrimental to your steem journey.
✓You may encounter trouble with those you copy from.
✓Followers may see your work as unoriginal.
✓Your content may not be rewarded.
✓ Your physical personality could be ruined.

As a Steemian, there are many other etiquettes to consider. Some to avoid and some to do.

Avoid:
Over posting.
Posting and running.
Posting nudes.
Spamming.

Do:
Apologize.
Forgive.
Help others.
Share great content.
