Ginger

Ginger is a plant whose origin is from Southeast Asia, has an underground stem, very precious for its aroma and spicy flavor. Its cultivation is widespread, and the largest producers are China and India, although it seems that the best quality comes from India, Australia and Jamaica. It can be used as a spice and as a medicinal plant since among other properties it is a good source of potassium, vitamin C, magnesium, copper, zinc and manganese.

In addition to its health benefits, its aroma and flavor is also a protagonist especially in Arab, Indian and Chinese cuisine.

Like other medicinal plants, the ginger plant can be grown in your garden or garden, both directly in the ground and in pots.

Medicinal properties of Ginger

Ginger has been attributed therapeutic properties and is therefore used with some frequency in traditional Chinese medicine. Its qualities as a gastrointestinal stimulant are well known, contributing to improve appetite, digestion of food and contributes to reducing some digestive problems such as colic, diarrhea, intestinal spasms, gas and indigestion. One of the greatest benefits in its ability to reduce nausea and vomiting. It also seems to improve symptoms in case of gastritis.

  • Ginger has antiviral properties and helps fight viruses.
  • It is useful for ailments of the respiratory system, such as infections, bronchitis, cough, flu ...
  • It has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, making it perfect against arthritis.
  • Reduces kidney stone or stone problems.
  • Its properties improve digestion making it a good ally against the scrambled stomach and with nausea.
  • Stimulates blood circulation, helping to prevent heart problems.

In addition, ginger is a good tonic and has diuretic and metabolism-accelerating properties raising body temperature being a suitable product if what the patient needs is to eliminate liquids for different causes. It has certain anti-inflammatory properties so in addition to reducing inflammation it contributes to improving the associated pain as it happens in cases of osteoarthritis, muscle problems, dysmenorrhea (although it can increase bleeding), headaches, migraines, etc ...

Ginger contains magnesium and zinc, which are key to improving blood circulation so it could be said that it contributes to prevent possible cardiovascular problems. At the level of the respiratory system, ginger has expectorant, antitussive, anti-inflammatory and even anti-infectious properties that help prevent and combat seasonal acute respiratory processes such as flu and colds and flu. A cup of hot ginger can help control a strong cough and remove bronchial mucus. It is also very useful for preventing and treating aphonia.

Ginger has also been used as an oil in massages that aim to improve blood circulation, muscle problems and steam therapies to relieve certain symptoms associated with respiratory problems such as colds, for example.

Contraindications of Jergibre

There are some profiles of people who should take special care before taking ginger and go to the doctor for advice before starting to take it such as: diabetics, pregnant, with heart conditions, liver, women during the lactation period so it is convenient to consult the doctor to avoid unwanted interactions and effects.

Ginger is a plant whose underground stem or rhizome has healthy properties taken properly and in correct doses but like any product that has active substances can manifest interactions with some medications so it is advisable to always consult with the doctor especially in cases of people who are being treated for hypertension, diabetes, anticoagulated patients and pregnant women.

Ginger has certain anti-infective properties but in no way can it be a substitute for a specific treatment established by the doctor against an infection caused by microorganisms or parasites.
