What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work. In educational contexts, there are differing definitions of plagiarism depending on the institution. Plagiarism is considered a violation of academic integrity and a breach of journalistic ethics

Plagiarism has the meaning in copying and pasting information from other people's works and we present it as our own, it can be extracted from books, works, drawings or other means, such as signs, patents, music videos, music among others.

When plagiarism occurs:

As we commit when we paraphrase a content, where we modify with synonyms some phrases or words, if paragraphs are captured without making the corresponding citation or bibliographic reference, there are many ways in which we can commit plagiarism and on the steemit page you should not do it

Types of Plagiarism:

self-plagiarism: it is the reuse of a work that we already publish and we refer to it.

Mosaic plagiarism: this is a whole armed we take different phrases of a work and a new one is elaborated or of different works and another one is made without giving accreditation to the phrases embodied by the intellectual authors.

Direct Plagiarism: Quotation marks are not used and phrases are extracted very typical of authors where no reference is made about them.

Complete Plagiarism: It is the one where everything is completely captured as written by the intellectual author and is not named at all in the research or work.

Plagiarism based on the sources: This one uses false sources or that do not really exist, as well as plasma information from a second direction and names only the first.

To avoid plagiarism use quotation marks for quotations just as you can reference the books or media you consult. Make original works from your own inspiration, with your creativity that can be great without you knowing it.
