Hi fellow Steemians. It's been a wonderful journey since I got on this platform and I'm hoping the excitement continues forever.
Originality of work is one of the areas steemit upholds highly. In this article we'll dive into plagiarism issues and why is not acceptable here.

Plagiarism can be said to be using someone's information or idea without giving credit to the original author. Even as much as the Steemit platform allows us to post anything ranging from articles, pictures, quotes etc. we must be very creative in our postings. Most people get on the internet and all they do is to copy and paste people's idea or information and make it seem like they own them. Plagiarism is a very serious problem and i entreat my fellow new comers to be very creative when writing and even when we have to borrow someone's idea, lets cite the source.

Plagiarism comes in different forms. You've plagiarised someone's work if you copy wholly the person's words or idea without acknowledging him. If you paraphrase someone's text and you still don't cite the source, you've plagiarised also. Again, if you make a direct quote of someone's work and fail to put them in quotation marks, you've plagiarised.
The whole motive of avoiding plagiarism is to ensure original and creative contents. Moreover it's unethical to steal other people's work.
Plagiarism is wrong and a crime so we should try as much as possible to avoid it.
