Achievement 2 @kayduke task: Basic Security on Steemit

Security issues is one of the things I look out for on the internet. Upon signing up to this platform and getting to see all of these keys made available for a single account was a bit confusing but I now understand them all and its important (Thanks to the team).

With the guidance of @avagah, I've been able to retrieve all the keys for my account and I have them safely stored as a draft in my mail and also stored them all manually in my "Steem Note".

I have also come to understand the functions of these keys and how important they're at every stage of the Steemit journey.

The Posting key, I will say is the most used key because it allows you login access into your account and also enables you to post, comment, edit, vote, resteem and follow.

The Active key, is meant for more sensitive tasks such as transferring funds, power up/down transactions, converting Steem Dollars, voting for witnesses, updating profile details and avatar, and placing a market order.

Owner key, the most powerful key because it can change any key of an account, including the owner key. It should be stored very well

Memo key, is used for encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds. In order to encrypt a memo, use the pound/# sign before it.

The Master key, like the name implies is the master of all the keys because it is used to generate all the keys including the owner key and also used in an account recovery situation. I have stored this most important password as a draft in my mail and also written it down manually.

In transferring your Steem token, it should be a simple process:
Go to wallet.
first log in the wallet account through active key.
Then Click on the dropdown near steem.

Click on transfer.
Enter the recipient's name and amount

Then click on NEXT.

To power up your steem you follow this simple process:

Go to wallet.
Then Click on the dropdown near steem.
Click on power up.

Enter the amount of Steem token you want to power up.

And then click POWER UP.

This education is an all important one and an eye opener for me and I believe my take on this topic will help somebody understand better too.
