Etiquette on Steem

From my understanding on the post publish by @cryptokannon Achievement 3 Content Etiquette and the one by @cryptofiend The Complete Steemit Etiquette i managed to grasp some of the do's and don'ts on the platform and how best to get about relating with other whether it is be through post or comments. Adhering with to these codes of conduct would eventually go a long way to ensuring you have a good reputation on the platform.

5 Do's

  1. It is absolutely crucial that we write original contents as steem was created for the proof of brain function. Through our genuine sharing we earn steem which is the platform's token.
  2. We have to cite content where applicable. Thus, when we take some information form somewhere which actually helped us with out own write up it is important that we point that out.
  3. It is also recommended that media used in our posts which are not our own should be free to use and with that @cryptokannon went ahead to give us some good sites which could help us including; https://shutterstock.com, https://pexels.com, https://unsplash.com and my mentor @nattybongo did mention pixabay.com too. In addition to using these images we ought to also reference with the link
  4. We ought to read before we partake in any activity whether it be a community, a contest or a discord group. Reading will help us know the rules and guidelines so we do not default.
  5. We ought to write and we ought to curate as well, this is a way of showing love and appreciation for the hardwork of others and the proof of brain.

5 Don'ts

  1. Do not plagiarize other any circumstance, trying to pass of the work of others as your own discredit the user and it against the platform policy.
  2. We ought not to ask directly for curations and money which may come out as extortion and forcing people against their will. Our good work must speak for us.
  3. We should not criticize unnecessarily neither should we hold unnecessary arguments. Instead we should try to help each other grow.
  4. We should not be over-reactive or allow our motions to direct our actions and judgement. Instead we should take a step back when things look bad and just try to approach it the best amicable way possible
  5. We are to avoid spamming which include resteeming everything else and somehow also include posting too much. And to top it all we should not write and just leave.

Conclusion and General Opinion

I believe just as the courtesy for boys and girls talks about in real life, if i should see thing platform not only as an online something but a real interaction with people who ought to be respected and given their due accordingly then i wouldn't have any problem with the etiquette as i would have to do unto others as i would have others do unto me. A Thank you to @steemcurator03 for the support and @rishabh99946 for verifying my achievement 2 post.

Thanks for reading and have a great time.
