Achievement 3 by @infinikxs Task : Content Etiquette

Plagiarism is a criminal act, involving two writers, with one as the author and the other the Thief. The offence of plagiarism is committed when an article written by someone is copied word for word amd posted by another.
According to Wikipedia,

""Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work" " ^Source

There are situations like the definition above where a writer may be compelled to copy another's writing word for word. In this situation a quotation mark and appropriate citation is required to pay reference to the original authors. Sometimes we may find our self paraphrasing someone's article. This is only good when it is done rightly. If the total amount of burrowed words and paraphrased sentences exceed 20% of the whole write up, then you are guilty of plagiarism. It is important to note that
The act of plagiarism is not restricted to words only. The indiscriminate use of every image and photograph seem on the internet may be categorized as plagiarism when copyright protected media is used without permission.

Even if permission was given, to be on the safe side, a proper reference to the image source should be provided.
This is why steemit users and every other content creators have been advised to get images for their posts from royalty free websites like, www.Pixabay.com, www.pexels.com, www.unsplash.com etc.
Images gotten from these free websites have to be properly referenced like this...

Plagiarism has consequences and can be used to indict a person using the copyright law. When looked at morally, one would agree that stealing someone else's work and using it as yours isn't right. Why take the glory belonging to another when you could do better yourself.
