Today, I'll be directing my focus on my achievement 2 which is a functional aspect of this platform.
Now, before I begin, let me throw light on what security is.

Security is a major aspect of steemit. Without security, the steemit platform will be prone to external attacks.
What is security then?

Any effort taken to secure something can be seen as taking security measures.

In contrast, security can be seen as safety measures taken by an individual to ensure the maximum protection of a thing.

STEEMIT AND SECURITY

We all know what security is all about.
Now let me take you'll on it's relationship with steemit.
To fit the steemit Blockchain, we can define security as measures put in place in steemit to protect someone's account.
This is done through the introduction of permission keys.

They include;

Posting key
Active key
Memo key
Owner key and
Master password.

• Posting key: the posting key in steemit is a very important key because it serves many important functions such as logging in to an account, up voting and posting an already written work.

• Active key: steemit is platform that pays it's users with a Crypto currency called steem.
  In other to transfer this steem, the active key is needed.
  In short, the active key in steemit helps users in confirming transactions

• Memo key: Memo keys are used for encryption and decryption. It's also used during transaction .
  During transaction, the memo represents what the money is used for or the wallet the money is been sent to.

• Owner key: The owner keys signifies ownership in steemit. To own something means to be the rightful possessor of that property.
  The owner key gives an individual full access to his account.

• Master password: The Master key is above all other keys in steemit because the activities of the master key influences other keys.
  The master key is needed when an individual wishes to change other keys.

RETRIEVING AND SECURING YOUR PERMISSION KEYS

Retrieving permission keys is very easy.
Firstly, a user needs to download his pdf, after downloading, he can decide to save it on any offline drive of his choice.
It's adviceable not to secure keys online because online folders can be hacked, and keys stolen.

HOW TO TRANSFER STEEM

• login to your wallet.
• click on steem, click on transfer under steem.

• put the name of person you want to transfer to, after that put the amount, memo and then click on next, then confirm the transaction.

HOW TO POWER UP STEEM TOKENS

• login to your wallet.
• click on steem and then power up.

• fill in the amount you want to power up and click on power up.
