Good Day Everyone, I'm super excited to be making my Achievement2 post which centers on Basic Security on Steem. The importance of having a secured wallet or account cannot be overemphasized, hence, the need for us to take the security measures of our acct serious.

QUESTION 1

Yes, I have done that. I retrieved all my keys upon registration. The keys include master password, owner key, Active Key, posting key and memo key.

QUESTION 2

We have 4 keys with their different functions and restrictions. I will be explaining them one by one.

• OWNER KEY

This is the most powerful key on Steem. It is used to recover any compromised acct. It is best stored offline where we can always get it anytime we are in need of it.
Restriction : As powerful as it is, we can't use it for daily logins.

• ACTIVE KEY
  As the name implies, it is an active key because it performs several and sensitive operations like transferring funds, power up/down transactions, converting Steem dollars, voting for witnesses, updating profile details and avatar, and placing a market order.

Restriction: It cannot be used to recover compromised acct neither can it be used for daily login.

• POSTING KEY
  This particular key is frequently used to login, post, resteem, upvote or downvote, follow other steemians and also edit and comment on a post.
  Restriction : This posting key cannot be used to access an account token.

• MEMO KEY
  The function of the memo key is simply to encrypt and decrypt messages during the transfer of funds.
  Restriction: The memo key cannot be used for daily logins and cannot be used to access wallet.

QUESTION 3

Because of the sensitivity and importance of the master password, I plan to save it offline (in a notepad) where only myself can always have access to it anytime I need it.

Yes, the lesson taught me this, therefore I understand it fully well. Below are screenshots of my accts to back up my answers.

1st Step
Log in to Steemit using your username and posting key and click on 'wallet'

2nd Step

Click on the down arrow button symbol beside your STEEM balance.

3rd Step

Click on 'Transfer' and enter the recipient username in the first open box and the amount of Steem to be transferred in the 2nd opened box.

4th Step

Ensure all the parameters are correct and click on 'Next'

Note : You will need to enter Active key to complete the transaction.

Yes, I do. Below are the steps on how to go about it

Step 1

Login to your steem acct using your username and posting key, then click on 'wallet'

Step 2

Click on the down arrow symbol button and select 'power up' from the options.

Step 3

Insert the amount you want to power up and after that you will click on the 'power up' button.

Note : You will need to enter your Active key to complete the transaction.
