What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is when you copy another person's work or use another person's idea and claim it as your own in other words it is known as copy and paste which is not good it is stealing unless you give credit to the original author.

Types of plagiarism

• Self-plagiarism: self-plagiarism is when someone try to copy his or her own old work and mix it some words and use it as a new work that is like self-plagiarism copying what you have done before and present it again as if it is new one by adding some words or changing some words

• Accidental plagiarism: accidental plagiarism can happen to anyone this occurs during research one can copy someone's work during research and then forget to give credit to the author, but whether it is accidental plagiarism or you did it on purpose it is plagiarism is not good so when we are doing research we need to be careful .

• Direct plagiarism: direct plagiarism means writing exactly what someone has written before without changing anything and without giving credit to the person that is direct plagiarism word to word.

how to avoid plagiarism

• We need to give credit to the author when we choose to use another person's word

• We also need to make research and then put it in her own words

• it is good to put the source of the material we use this is another way to avoid plagiarism

• we can also learn from those who know more than us by asking question so that they will explaining it better to our own understanding before we write it.

Citation simply means letting our reader to know that this particular paragraph they are reading now is not our own word that is what citation means that this is from another author

So for you to cite a test you need to type the name of the author the subjects you are looking for if it is image the name of the image if it is a book the name of the book the author or the year the book was published this will help you to get it on the internet and then take what you need from it .So you go to your browser type the name of the subject and then search for it that is how to cite a text like the image I put here I typed free image of citation and images came out I choose this one and then add a link of the image that is how to give credit to the author or to the designer the one who designed the image.
