Plagiarism is simple the Copying of another person's ideas, text or other creative work, and presenting it as one's own, especially without permission and also siting the original author.

Types of plagiarism

(A) Direct Plagiarism
This is word to word Copying of someone else works without quotation and citation of the original owner.

(B) Accidental Plagiarism
This occurred when person neglect to cite their source, either intensionally or unintentionally.

(C) Mosaic Plagiarism
This occurred when borrowing words from another writer without using the quote sign

(D) Self Plagiarism
This is the submission of work without referencing the original owner.

Causes of plagiarism
(A) lack of research
When one wants to go into writing, he or she should be probably researched to avoid plagiarism

(B) Lack of understanding of what to write
Don't engaged or go into writing on a topic you don't have full understanding of the topics to write on

Danger of plagiarism

*Legal action by the original owner or party.
It is punishable offence by copying someone's work or write up without referencing or citing the original writer.

*Lost of reputation
Copying unathorized work lead to lost of reputation.

*Lower of profession
Copying someone's wor without the permission or referencing the owner will lower the profession of the second writer (copier)

*Lost of credibility
Plagiarism leads to lost of credibility in the the aspect of the writer.

Citation
citation is a formal reference to a published or unpublished source that you consulted and obtained information from while writing.

Citation carries the name of the author and date. For example, @ngoenyi,2021. This means that, the author is @ngoenyi and 2021 is the year of publication.
Another example of citation is when you consulted a book that has two authors, the names of the two authors should be cited, example @ngoenyi and @sumit71428,2021.
If the authors are more than two, it should be cited as @ngoenyi et al.,2021. This show that the consulted materials has more than two authors.

Where and how to cite a work

Citation should be fixed at the end of the word copy from that material with the name of the author and year of publication in a bracket.
Example,"Hi @emaeyakjames, you need to edit this post and write some things in your own words . Your explanation of direct and self plagiarism should be written in your own words.
You also need to write more on plagiarism, you are required to have up to 200 words about plagiarism. You can add the definition of citation and how to cite a source"(@ngoenyi,2021).
