Newcomers Beware!!!

Uploading image #2...

Steem is not a way to get rich quick, and there isn’t an endless supply of money. You can be popular if you spend hours contributing quality content, and maybe you’ll receive $20 a day if you work for a while.

Steem isn’t very mature and there’s not a lot of content consumers on the platform to read and upvote your posts, so there isn’t a lot of money flowing into the platform for you to receive for posting. If you want to make a lot of money you should go on a site like Medium; you’ll have better chances there.

The only way you would be able to make that kind of money on Steem is if you self-upvoted and had a large stake in the platform. You can self-upvote as a new account, but will receive less than a cent from your vote. But if you buy around a million dollars worth of Steem you might be able to make a living off of just self-upvoting. Not a rich man’s life but you would be able to make a living.

Also, as a side note:

Could you please not use the word Steemit when referring to Steem? You wouldn’t use block.one and EOS interchangably, just like you shouldn’t use Steemit and Steem interchangably. Steemit Inc. is a company that makes the Steemit interface for Steem, but Steem is a blockchain that is decentralized and is owned by no company. Just to show that Steemit is not Steem, there are multiple other interfaces for the Steem blockchain such as SteemPeak, Busy, Partiko, etc.

Depending on how you work the system, how many followers you have, how much steem you have invested in various ventures, how much steem you have powered up, what communities you are a part of and if you are running a witness, and if your witness is in the top 20 then you can be sure to coup some good $$$onsteemit.

And frankly speaking you can make nothing to hundreds a day, depending on your involvement with the system. I personally have invested nothing but time into the system, and have made anywhere from $0.00 to $40.00 on posts. I haven’t had a $0.00 post since the first couple of weeks. Most are in the $1 to $3 range, but I do not post a lot. Most of my earnings come from comments and contests that I enter. I also host a contest, where I usually pay out more than I make but I’m not necessarily there for just the money. Plus it helps to grow my followers.
