What is plagiarism?

In my final school days before writing my final year project we were taught on how to cite an author and not to do mindless lifting.
Plagiarism in my understanding is a way a writer uses another writer's work without pro permission of the author. Or without proper citing the sources. He assures the work to completely be his and take the whole glory hmmm this is dangerous and the plagiarist can be so surf for this uncommon act of writing indiscipline.

Types of plagiarism

madewithpostermywall

Verbatim plagiarism (copy & paste)

This happens when you word to word copy a text to your own work without acknowledgement.

Global plagiarism

This is the process by which you take the whole of someone's work and assume it to be yours. For instance when someone writes assignment for you it is global plagiarism.

Paraphrasing plagiarism

In this case one get to restructure words gotten from another material without acknowledging the source.

Mosaic plagiarism (patchwork plagiarism)

This kind of plagiarism comes to play when one copy phrases, passages and ideas out of different authors work and covert them together as his own work.

Citing incorrectly

Incorrect citation occurs when you do not properly cite a source according to the citation rule that is laid down.

Plagiarizing your own work (self-plagiarism)

This is the process of using one own work directly that was formally used in another new work. Every presentation should have a fresh idea to it.

Effect of Plagiarism On Steemit

  • It reduces ones reputation
  • It can lead to one's account to be blocked
  • People will believe you less.

Why you use proper citations

  • Your work becomes more interesting
  • Your value and reputation increases.

My gratitude goes to @cryptokannon, @steemcurators for detailed lecture on the Achievement as it really helped me learn more about steemit.

I got types of plagiarism from here:

Thanks for writing on this topic which many friends in steemit have repeatedly written something about it. However, I appreciate the pictures you presented to illustrate your point on this subject - plagiarism.
