Achievement 3 by @bambamaru2020 Task : Content Etiquette

First of all it would have to be clarified whether plagiarism can be asserted at all with the buccaneers Letters of Marque. We pirates are actually not used to admit that we have stolen. At best we tell the queen where the booty came from. But today we have to fulfill Achievement 3 and write this post here with some reluctance. It is basically about the fact that we have understood that we should not steal what someone else has come up with.

Plagiarism is basically intellectual theft, i.e. the incorporation of other people's thoughts into one's own publication without marking them as such. It also contradicts the code of honour of the authors. Quoting, on the other hand, is not prohibited. But the author must always be named. Plagiarism can take various forms, not only direct copying is plagiarism, but also an unmarked translation or the adoption of a foreign idea without reference to literature. This applies equally to text, images, video and audio.

So if I write:

In the past you had to walk the plank if you got caught and only the kiss of a mermaid could have seduced a sailor to let himself be taken in by such petty trickery. Today, the Steemit community has more efficient ways to ensure obedience I guess. You should not try to steal if you are not a real pirate.

So please mates only original content, quoted correctly, or at least don't get caught. With that said, let's weigh anchor and hoist the mizzen - it is a big ocean out there!
