hello steemian, wherever you are! How are you all ? I hope your news is all right, so that you can stay focused on sharing the best content here.

Okay, after I made several assignments starting from Achievement1 and achievement2, it's time now for me to write Achievement3, hopefully this time I can also pass verification.

Well, in this achievement3 I will create content with the theme "Content Etiquette". Let's start!.

What Is Plagiarism ?

The Merriam Webster dictionary defines the act of plagiarism as; “to steal and pass off ideas or words of another as one’s own”. Simply put, plagiarism is the process of taking other people’s words and/or ideas and pretending that they are your own. An alternative definition of plagiarism is forwarded by the Collins Dictionary which explains that plagiarism is the practice of using someone else’s work and pretending that it is your own. Plagiarism can also be defined as the act of deliberately trying to deceive your academic tutor by submitting content which is not your own work.Source

Plagiarism is a major issue in terms of material ethics. If you plagiarize as a steemian, it may have significant repercussions for this cryptocurrency site and build a negative reputation in the future. And, in reality, plagiarism ethics is not just a steemit platform issue; it is a crime that we must combat in any area.

When you lie by plagiarizing, you are unwittingly deceiving yourself because you have lost the ability to improve and grow the understanding about the material you produce.

This talent in creating content and production should be able to provide you with positive advantages in the future, so plagiarism should be stopped and fought at all costs.

why shouldn't we do plagiarism?

There are two main and basic reasons why we shouldn't plagiarize content:

  • Plagiarism is stealing: Stealing other people's ideas, critical arguments, and sentence structure. Morally, it's the same as stealing a car or whatever. The concept remains the same. As a student, if someone else stole your idea, how would you feel?
  • Plagiarism represents information blindness: If you plagiarize someone else's work, you are implying that you are not able to express your own thoughts and ideas fluently enough to achieve high-level classification.Source

The steemit whitepaper states unequivocally that plagiarism is strictly forbidden. As a result, let us collaborate with Steemit platform users to keep this from happening. And if there are those of us who plagiarize, the guidelines require that a source be included in the article.

Even if he cites the source, a person may be just as incorrect in several respects. This is about what he does with the information he obtains from that source. In other words, the issue of plagiarism is not as straightforward as we think; there is a lot of debate over whether or not to mention the source. However, this often pertains to how and when the author intends to include the material and references cited.

The concept of plagiarism is evident from the definition above. So, in terms of behavior, there are different forms or means of committing plagiarism, that is :

  • plagiarizes other people's jobs and claims to be the creator;
  • pay for someone else's writing and then claim it as his own;
  • stealing other people's thoughts / ideas and only printing them under their own name;
  • use the words used by someone exactly as they are and publish them under their own name;
  • Copying other people's writings, such as from the internet, and only using them in prose as if they were their own.

Of instance, the Steemit community does not accept plagiarism because it explicitly violates the intellectual property and possible growth of the steem blockchain.

That's all my # achievement3 assignment, hopefully it's useful,

Thank you from me, Abenk37 (@atim1234)
