Achievement 3 : Task Etiquette Content by @arnaw
The term plagiarism is defined in the Dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy as the action of "copying in substance the works of others, giving them as their own". From the legal point of view it is an infringement of copyright on an artistic or intellectual work of any kind, which is incurred when a work of others is presented as its own or original.
Plagiarism is committed:
By using the words of another without indicating it in the form of a quotation in the text or citing the source in the list of bibliographic references
By presenting the original ideas of another, in a modified manner, without the citation of the source
By falsifying other words or ideas
Incorrectly citing a source of information
By pretending to own someone else's work
All the information in the above is a clear example of a plagiarized publication in which the sources from which the information was extracted were not taken into consideration, nor was the same information used to create original content. Then I will recreate the same information but correctly citing its sources
Plagiarism is usually defined as a discrete offense, a specific failure to give credit to a particular source. But it actually raises a much more fundamental question for writers: “Where is my voice in this project?” Seen in this light, the strategies that help you avoid plagiarism can also be strategies that help you gain power as a writer. Once your guiding question about your relationship to sources is “Where is my voice?” you are well on your way to using sources in an effective and legitimate way.

As you have just read plagiarism or better known as the art of copying and pasting is the act of stealing the intellectual or artistic ideas of a person, plagiarism is completely prohibited on the steemit platform because users are expected to be creators of original content and of their own authorship.
But of course we can't create content without knowing what we're talking about; in cases like these we use citations so that we can use other people's information in our publications. an example would be the one mentioned above or the same cover image, because more than simply the design what turns a content into a quote is the fact of identifying the author of it so that the person who reads it understands that this content is not your property.
You can commit plagiarism in different ways according to the following website the ways are as follows:
Plagiarism is committed:
Forgetting to use quotation marks for a quote
Paraphrasing too closely to the original text (e.g. just switching out a few synonyms)
Mentioning an idea that you read somewhere without citing it
Including the wrong information in a citation
Not including a complete reference list at the end of your paper
As you can see there are many ways to commit plagiarism and we have all done it at least once in our lives, but if we plan to continue innovating it is necessary to change our way of thinking and try to create our own content, plagiarism is bad and on no platform like Steemit will ever be well seen
