Steemit is a social media platform which is built on the steemit blockchain. The security system is the essential feature of steemit, which protects user accounts and obstructs unauthorised access. Let's learn about all types of keys at a glance.

There is 4 type of steemit keys/ password, which is unchangeable. Every password/keys have a specific purpose/usage. You are unable to delete or change this password. So you have to must keep your password secure. This post will give you a clear vision, purpose, and usage of these keys and passwords.

1. Posting Key - this is what you use to make posts, comment and upvote/flag using your account. This is what you should use most of the time.
2. Active Key - this allows you to interact with your wallet, i.e. sending Steem/SBD etc. It also lets you change the information on your profile. Only use it when you absolutely have to (i.e. to move Steem/SBD around) and keep it offline the rest of the time.
3. Owner Key - this is your master password. It lets you do everything, including changing to a new owner key, which will change all your other keys. You should only use it for this purpose and keep it offline at different times. You can change this by using the "password" page. Please do not lose it.
4. Memo Key - this doesn't really do anything right now but will be used to sign messages at a future date. You don't need to use this at present.

There are some important key points that all new users should keep in mind:

1. You should typically log in to Steemit using your POSTING KEY.

2. Always keep your Owner and Active Keys offline unless and until you need them.

3. Keep multiple types of secure backups of all your keys - a password manager can help but make sure it is properly secured and backed up.

4. DO NOT send people your keys by email, chat or any other way. I have had multiple people email and message me their Owner Keys! If I was a criminal, I could have taken over their accounts.

5. Be careful not to accidentally cut and paste your activation key into the memo area when making financial transactions

6. If you think you have accidentally disclosed any of your keys, immediately go to the "Password" page so you can change your Owner Key. This will change all your other Keys too, and you will need to record the new ones from the Permissions page.

7. KEEP YOUR OWNER KEY PRIVATE!!!!!

now, i am going to tell you how can you add your steem power.Steem Power (SP) is a measure of the influence and reputation of a Steemit account. There are many ways you can add Steem Power to your account:

Powering Up: One way to add Steem Power to your account is by "powering up" STEEM tokens. Here's how to power up Steem:

Go to your profile and the Steemit wallet by clicking on the "Wallet" tab in the top menu.

Click on the "STEEM" tab on the right side of the page; there, you will see the "Power Up" button;

• Enter the amount of Steem
• Click the "Power Up" button to initiate the power-up process

• You should enter your active key or owner key to complete the transaction.
Transfer Steem: Go to your profile and then go to the Steemit wallet by clicking on the "Wallet" tab in the top menu.

Click on the "STEEM" tab on the right side of the page; there, you will see the "Transfer" button;

• In the "To" field, enter the username or account name of the person you want to send the Steem or SP
• In the "Amount" field, put the amount of Steem or SP you want to send. You can specify the currency
• In the "Memo" field, you can enter an optional message to include with the transfer.

• Click the "Next" button
• You should enter your active key or owner key to complete the transaction.

1. Buying SP: You can also add Steem Power to your account by buying it on the open market from other Steemit users or cryptocurrency exchanges.
