So Today I am completing my Achievement 4 @tarpan. In which we will understand more about markdowns on steemit and how to make our article more beneficial for other content readers. Presentation is very important and requirement for Better article. Let us understand how to apply Markdowns and let us prepare an article on that.

PERTURBATION THEORY IN QUANTUM MECHANICS

In quantum mechanics as in classical mechanics exactly solvable problems are there and one must frequently result to approximation. Approximations are therefore expected to play an important part. So various methods of approximate solution of the wave equation have been devised leading to the more or less accurate evaluation of energy values and wave function. Perturbation theories are of two kinds time independent or stationary perturbation theory and time dependent perturbation theory. The stationary perturbation theory is concerned with finding the changes in the energy levels and eigenfunctions of a system when a small disturbance is applied. In such cases the hamiltonian can be broken up into two parts one of which is large and represent the system for which the Schrodinger equation can be solved exactly e while other part is small and can be treated as a perturbation paath. If the potential energy is disturbed by the influence of additional forces the energy levels are shifted and for a week perturbation the amount of shift can be estimated if the original and cut off state is known.


Examples of Perturbation :

Normal helium atom without spin consideration is an application of first order perturbation theory for a non degenerate system full stop and normal helium atom consists of A nucleus of charges z which have value 2. And two electrons circulating about the nucleus. The potential energy for the system of 2 electron 1 and 2 and the nuclear charge have an additional perturbation energy which not only change the potential energy but also change the dynamics of the wave function and the eigenvalue of the helium atom in terms of quantum mechanics.

Harmonic oscillator is also an example of perturbation theory in which the potential energy is perturbed in two different methods. The first method is directly proportional to X and the second method is directly proportional to X². By two different cases we get two different perturbation values. The first perturbation value for proportional to X is zero while we get a value in case 2. This is how we can verify different order of perturbation energy eigenfunction and wave function with eigenvalue in quantum mechanics. Perturbation is one of the most important it and logical fact or research in quantum mechanics that not only changed the understanding but also the vision to understand the world and natural phenomena in physics more clearly.
