Greetings to all! I hope all are you doing doing well and in good spirits. Today, I'm thrilled to recount the wonderful details of my recent birthday celebration in Chittagong. While the enthusiasm surrounding birthdays might mellow with age, the significance and joy of the day remain unwavering. This year brought a departure from the usual festivities, as I found myself in a new city, away from my family in Dhaka

The day commenced with the familiar routine of early rising and preparing a light breakfast for my husband, who prefers a modest start to the day. After he warmly greeted me with birthday wishes, enjoyed his breakfast, and headed off to the office, I took a moment to stand by the window, absorbing the tranquility of the last winter morning. My birthday coincides with the concluding date of the Bengali calendar's winter, heralding the arrival of the vibrant season of "Boshonto." It was a poignant moment, soaking in the final essence of the departing winter and embracing the promise of a new beginning.

Following this reflective pause, I woke up my daughter, who sweetly extended her birthday wishes, echoing the teachings of her father. We then prepared and enjoyed our breakfast, and I savored a cup of tea—the essential companion to kickstart my day. Throughout the day, friends and family reached out through calls and messages, especially my parents and in-laws enveloping me in a constant stream of warm birthday wishes, making me feel surrounded by love and affection.

As lunchtime approached, I decided to make something special. The recent move to our new place had brought about a period of chaos in settling in, delaying any plans for elaborate cooking. Traditionally, my mother or in-laws would take charge of creating something special on my birthday. However, this time, I took the initiative, crafting a menu that included "polaw," "Chinese Vegetable," and "Chicken Korma." While I missed the familiar comfort of my childhood home, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the presence of my daughter and husband, turning this celebration into a heartwarming family affair.

After a satisfying lunch, a short nap was in order, and my husband ventured off for his gaming session. Upon waking, I was pleasantly surprised to find him standing beside my bed with a beautifully adorned birthday cake. The unexpected gesture brought a wave of joy, heightened by my daughter's infectious excitement, chanting, "Ajk mammar birthda! Aj mammar birthday." My husband initiated a birthday song on YouTube, selecting "Happy Birthday to my wifey," creating an unexpectedly heartwarming moment. Together, we cut the cake, capturing the spontaneous joy in photographs that will be cherished for years to come.

I assumed the surprises had concluded, but to my delight, my husband announced a birthday dinner outing. After getting ready, we headed to a local restaurant, relishing quality time and delectable food. Opting for a lighter meal, we indulged in doi fuchka and a burger, followed by soothing malai tea. We discovered a serene spot in our residential area, where we lingered in a tranquil environment, reflecting on the significance of the day.

While I couldn't help but miss the familiar faces of my parents and other family members in Dhaka , celebrating with my own family in this new place brought a unique joy. In gratitude , I offered prayers to Almighty Allah for the well-being and longevity of my family. May we continue to share our lives with our loved ones , creating more memories and celebrating birthdays together for many more years to come.
