Betterlife - The Diary Game | 11 April, 2024 |The Day of Eid-ul-Fitr: Family, Food, and Festive Fun .

Yesterday was the much anticipated day of Eid which came after a month of fasting throughout Ramadan ! We made the decision to spend the entire night cooking numerous traditional delicacies in an effort to make this day even more special and unforgettable . Everyone pitched in to cook their favourite foods, making it a family affair .

Dessert was my responsibility, and I made "Sahi Nawabi Shemai" , "Egg Pudding "and " Dudh Shemai". I have to admit, they came out tasting and looking really fantastic. In the kitchen, too, my mother was a huge help. She prepared delicious roast, flavorful polao, and irresistible beef rezala that delighted everyone's palates.

The eve of Eid was a frenzy of excitement and activities. My sisters, mom and I were rushing back and forth in the kitchen, each concentrating on our own responsibilities. In between all of the prep and cooking, I managed to get my left hand mehendi. It's a lovely custom that gives the celebrations an extra dash of sophistication. We eventually finished up at four in the morning and went to bed, excited for the next day.

We were up again by eight in the morning, so we didn't have much time to recover. While I busied myself with cleaning up our home and making sure everything was in order for the day's celebrations, my husband put on his Punjabi and left for the Eid prayer.

Following a delicious family breakfast in the morning, we started the custom of requesting "Salami" from our elders. In our country, juniors like us ask for blessings and receive gifts or money from our seniors. It's a unique and entertaining habit. It's a delightful and touching experience every time.

Along with getting ready for the day, I suited up in my new Eid attire for my small kid. She had the cutest appearance ever and won everyone over with her naive charm.

We moved outside as the day went on to capture some lovely moments with our family. We captured the pleasure and enthusiasm that pervaded the atmosphere in some beautiful photos. We made the decision to explore Naval Sea Beach later in the day, and it was a revitalising and peaceful experience. It was the ideal way to round off our Eid celebrations—the sound of the waves, the refreshing breeze, and the presence of my loved ones.

All in all, this Eid has been a mixture of affection, humour, and community. It has been a pleasure to spend time with my family creating lasting memories while indulging in exquisite cuisine and traditions . I am profoundly grateful and fortuitous to be having these invaluable moments and I eagerly anticipate numerous gatherings and celebrations with my cherished ones in the coming years .
