Better life: The Dairy Game (02.11.2023) |Thursday : An Evening Filled with Love and Generational Connections.

The morning until lunchtime was like any other day, nothing special. However, during the afternoon while my family and I were enjoying our snacks, my mother-in-law had a special request. She insisted that we visit our beloved grandmother with my little daughter. We decided to pay her a visit in the evening and brought along some sweets and curd, knowing her fondness for them. Our grandmother is an incredible 86 years old and still has a sweet tooth that never quits.

As we entered her room , my 3-year-old daughter initially hesitated, but after a few moments, she became comfortable. She affectionately called her "Bro Ma," which means big mother. Within the confines of the space, a lively domestic feline by the name of Mario was present, eliciting eager anticipation from my daughter, who eagerly anticipated engaging in play with the aforementioned pet.

One aspect of this visit that deeply resonated with me was observing the heartfelt interactions between my mother-in-law and her mother-in-law, our beloved grandmother. They were actively participating in lively dialogue, embraced one another, and exchanged handshakes.

The immense amount of respect and affection between them truly amazed me. These two amazing women belong to an older generation, and there's so much we can learn from their wisdom and bond.

As it was time to bid farewell, it became a truly touching moment when our grandmother held my daughter and offered a heartfelt prayer to the almighty for her well-being. My daughter may not have fully understood the words, but out of the innocence of her heart, she spontaneously gave her "Bro Ma" a sweet kiss. It was as if her innocent mind had grasped the essence of the prayer and the love surrounding her.

Leaving our grandmother's house was emotionally charged, and as we stepped outside, my mother-in-law and I decided to extend this heartwarming day with a visit to a nearby star hotel for a cup of tea. The moments shared at the hotel were as special as the time spent with our grandmother. It allowed me to see my mother-in-law differently which strengtheneded our bond.

In our fast-changing environment, the simple pleasures of life are often ignored. Our recent visit to our grandmother's house reminded us of the generations-old bonds of warmth, love, and respect. This reminds us of the wisdom our elders may provide us.

As I contemplate upon this exquisite day, I am reminded of the significance of treasuring these moments with our dear ones and deriving wisdom from the diverse array of experiences they offer. Ultimately, it is these instances that render life genuinely exceptional and deserving of commemoration.
