SEC-S15W3: My Favorite Book

in Steem For Bangladesh5 months ago (edited)

Three books I recommend: "One Hundred Years of Solitude", "Anna Karenina" and "Crime and Punishment"

"One Hundred Years of Solitude" tells: that no matter how brilliant a person or a family has been, they will eventually fall into silence. Ninety-five percent of the things in life cannot be decided by us. You cannot decide your origin, your parents, or your destiny. But it is precisely because of this that we must work harder to use the 5% uncertainty to leverage the 95% certainty.

"Anna Karenina" tells:about marriage and love. Marriage without love is unhappy, and love without marriage is immoral. Every unmarried woman should read about marriage, love and self, and what should we do when these factors conflict.

"Crime and Punishment" tells: what this world is like. From the moment a person is born, basically all outcomes are predetermined. Life is always full of pain and suffering. Even if you work very hard, the results are often counterproductive. What supports us to face life bravely is the most beautiful human emotions, sincerity and kindness.

When I was in adolescence, I always scorned these traditional literary masterpieces to show my eccentricity and uniqueness. It was not until I slowly experienced some things after graduation and went back to read these classics that I realized my ignorance and stupidity at the time.

Refusing to read is a kind of stupidity, and the arrogance and self-righteousness that reading breeds is an even greater stupidity.
stay awake.

If possible, I would like to write a book about diet therapy and health care. Nowadays, young people live a fast-paced and stressful life. We ensure our health and prevent diseases through daily eating and food preparation.

I will invite my friends @liusir @stef1 @hudamalik20 to participate, thank you.

What a interesting selection of books @pinkcastle! I have not read any of them myself, but you have certainly sparked my interest... especially with the first one.

Well... you know what they say - Life is wasted on the youth haha!! When we are younger we think we know everything, but only l earn much later on that in fact, we do not!

Nice that you went back to them to read them though. I was also a complete eccentric in my younger years and I suppose what some people may have considered a real problem child. My parents spent a lot of money to send me to a really good school and I completely wasted the opportunity. At the time I didn't even think about it... I just hated school, but as an adult... it made me feel sad because they sacrificed so much to give the best to us as their children.

Live and learn I guess :)

Personally I think reading is one of the best ways to enrich our minds and souls!

Thank you for your liking. Yes, many things are what we know later, but when we grow up for a certain period of time, we find all kinds of regrets that happened before. Through reading, we can realize many thoughts and even influence ourselves.

Quite right :)

Thank you for invitation, from the books that you presented the only one I was not familiar with was "One Hundred Years of Solitude", I absolutely agree that majority of our personality we receive from our ancestors and often we behave ourselves without even knowing that. But I agree with you that we have 5% that we can influence and change ourselves. It is hard because we, human are lazy and often we say: that we do it tomorrow and so the time passes.

Classical literature has a good stuff for consideration and thoughts.

Yes, I agree with you. When we think from the author's point of view and the bystander's point of view, we will get completely different ideas.

Greetings friend,
It sounds like you've read some truly thought-provoking books.

"One Hundred Years of Solitude" seems to emphasize the idea that despite our brilliance and accomplishments, life has a way of bringing us back to humility and silence. It reminds us that a significant portion of our lives is beyond our control, such as our origins, family, and even our destiny. However, the book also encourages us to make the most of the 5% of uncertainty that we can influence and use it to our advantage in the face of the 95% of certainty.

"Anna Karenina" explores the complexities of marriage and love. It suggests that a marriage without love can lead to unhappiness, while love without marriage may be seen as immoral. It highlights the importance of understanding the dynamics between marriage, love, and one's own self. When these factors conflict, it prompts us to reflect on how to navigate such situations.

As for "Crime and Punishment," diving into the harsh realities of life, suggesting that many outcomes in life are predetermined from the moment we are born, and that life is often filled with pain and suffering. Even when we put in great effort, the results may not always align with our expectations. However, the book reminds us that the most beautiful human emotions, such as sincerity and kindness, can support us in facing life's challenges with bravery.

These books seem to offer profound insights into the human experience and provoke deep contemplation. It's wonderful that you've engaged with such meaningful literature.

Nice to meet like-minded people. Thank you for reading my post.

Hola amigo!!

Thank you,Reading can make people perfect their personality

A good choice. This is serious literature and is not so easy to read and understand.
But it is precisely such works that allow us to better understand life.

I agree with you.

Those books you mentioned area in deed a must read book. Your brief explanation of them have made be to begin looking for them especially the "Anna Karenina" and one hundred years in solitude.

Imagine working very hard to use 5% to leverage on 95% of life that we don't have control over. Well, all I can say is that we are created as free moral agents. We can either choose to do good or bad if not our loving Heavenly Father wouldn't have said that he will punish us if we practice what is bad. Thank you for presenting these books. I will try and look for them.

Ok, my friend. I hope these books will make you like them.
