What is the national festival of your country? How did it start?

Friends the name of my country is Pakistan which located in Asia and it is a Muslim country. Pakistan came into being on 14th August 1947 after the separation of subcontinent. Since then the people of Pakistan is considered as a nation which has their own unique traditions, ways of living and their own uniqueness between the whole world. But the Pakistan is a multinational country because the people of different religions are living in it and they celebrate different festivals according to their religions.

But as a whole, different types of national religious, national and cultural festivals are celebrated in Pakistan. Such as Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha, Independence Day, Shandoor Polo Festival, Lok Mela and Pakistan Day. All these festivals are celebrated on different dates in almost every part of country and each festival has its own uniqueness and beauty. But among all of them I would like to talk about Eid Al Fitr which is also a religious and national festival.

This is because the people of whole Pakistan celebrate it with great delight. According to the Islamic calendar Eid Al Fitr is celebrated from 1st to 3rd of shawal after the completion of the thirty days of fasting. Indeed the Eid Al Fitr is such a great gift of Allah Almighty because it unites the whole Muslim ummah in its celebration as every muslim feel very happy during the Eid days. Actually the Eid Al Fitr was started in the reign of our beloved Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW.

For the very first time the Eid Al Fitr was celebrated after the victory of Jang e Badar which was fought against the non Muslims. Hazrat Muhammad SAW celebrated first Eid Al Fitr with his relative and companions. So since then it is keep on celebrating on the first day of shawal and after the completion of Fasting. That festival has a great importance in the heart of every muslim.

How is this festival celebrated? Are there any special rules for celebrating it?

Yes indeed the Muslims of whole world celebrate that festival with great delight and some special preparations are done especially on the night of moon sight which is called the Chand Raat. But also many people start preparing for Eid Al Fitr before the one week of its arrival. In this regard they went for shopping, buy new clothes, shoes and the girls buy hennah (Mehndi), choorian and many other cosmetics products including the makeup etc. On the Chand Raat they apply that Mehndi on their hands in order to increase the happiness of Eid.

Also before the Eid days the charity is given to the poor people which is called Fitrana. Through that act of kindness we involve the poor people also in the celebrations of Eid which directly increase the happiness of Eid for Us and for others as well. So on the day of Eid, everyone children, old and young, with a beautiful smile on their face, get ready and wear new clothes and go to the mosque for Eid prayers. Then the Eid namaz is prayed and the people meet each others and say Eid Mubarak to everyone.

After that the people left for their homes through different ways because it the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW. After reaching home they say Eid Mubarak to their relatives and beloved one as well. Then the children cling to their elders because they only want Eidi and their elders give them Eidi which starts the joy and happiness form them.

Are there any special outfits or foods for celebrating your national festival?

No there is no any special outfits for Eid celebrations but everyone try to wear new dress, new shoes and new outfits to make himself look pretty on Eid. People wear new dresses or outfits of different colors but they are not specified as they wear according to their will. But without the sweetness dishes, delicious and tasty foods the celebrations of Eid Al Fitr are incomplete. Yes because on during the Eid days the people prepare dinner different types of delicious dishes in their houses and eat them with great delight.

In addition the Eid Al Fitr is also called Meethi Eid because on Eid various kinds of sweet dishes are prepared which are also delivered to the relatives, neighbors and beloved ones. These sweet dishes are Meethi Sawwiaan (vermicelli), Sweet rice, Kheer and Sheer Khorma etc. Also the people deliver different sweets to the houses of their relatives and beloved ones. In the night the other tasty and mouth watering dishes are also prepared including the BBQs, Biryani, nehari, and chicken karahi.

Tell us about your favorite memory from celebrating your favorite festival

Yes my friends, every year Eid comes, spreads happiness and leaves us with giving a lot of new memories which lasts forever in our minds. So I have a lot of memories which are related to that wonderful festival. Here I would like to share a memory indeed it was a beautiful memory which I remember even after passing a lot of years. Actually it was the first day of Eid and I was standing at a bakery with my cousins. We were talking about different things and having some cold drinks in our hands and no time there a comes a boy.

He came and started talking about me with his own friends and still I haven't seen his face. So when I noticed that thing and turned my neck around, I was totally surprised and shocked to see him because he was my class mate with whom I haven't met since the last 5 years. After that we hugged each other and passed Eid Mubarak and I was very happy to see him as he was my classmates and have a lot of memories together in school.

After that we went towards a restaurant, had a great time together and enjoyed a delicious dinner. We recalled our school life memories and spend a quality time together once again. Indeed it was a very wonderful memory for me which I will never forget this is because the friends are one of the great assets of our lives and we never deny their role in our lives.

Conclusion

Yes indeed the Eid Al Fitr is a festival of happiness, joy, laughter and a lot of positive things which can be in the form of fasting of Holy Ramadan, doing good deeds, seeking the forgiveness of Almighty Allah and and helping the Poor people through charities. Also it is symbol of unity of the whole Muslim ummah because it is celebrated in the whole world among the Muslims.

Actually the Eid Al Fitr was started in the reign of our beloved Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW.

As a Muslim , I belive highlighting the historical origins of Eid Al Fitr adds depth to its significance within the our community. Understanding its roots fosters a deeper connection to the festival.

After that the people left for their homes through different ways because it the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW.

The adherence to Sunnah during Eid celebrations reflects the importance of religious traditions in shaping cultural practices. I think It's a reminder of the reverence for Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) teachings in our everyday life.

Indeed it was a very wonderful memory for me which I will never forget this is because the friends are one of the great assets of our lives and we never deny their role in our lives.

Memories of Eid celebrations often revolve around cherished moments spent with loved ones. I belive that friendship and companionship have potential to create lasting memories during festive occasions.

All the best.

Greetings Dear @abdullahw2
The joy of Eid begins with the sighting of the Eid moon. Eid is a day of great joy in our religion where the joy of Eid is shared with everyone. Fitra and Zakat are taxes on our wealth through fulfilling the rights of the poor and the tradition of giving to the less fortunate through Fitrana adds a wonderful layer of compassion and inclusiveness to the festival, reflecting the true spirit of Islam. Paying children on the day of Eid is a part of Eid. Good luck to you.
