THE DIARY GAME: 2/8/2020: A WONDERFUL FIRST SUNDAY

Happy Sunday, dear steemians,

Today, being Sunday was a very engaging day for me. I woke up by 6 a.m. to prepare for church. As a minister in the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, I usually resume church by 7 a.m. with workers/ministers meeting.

I took a commercial motorcycle to church with my wife, we paid one hundred-naira (#100) equivalent to $0.26. The road is bad, so I had to hold the back of the seat as we were going.

Imagine! My wife was making jest of me that I’m holding the bike like an old man. I replied her:

let me hold it because I don’t want to fall, after all if I die now you will quickly marry another man.

Don’t mind us, that’s how we joke and laugh over every issue. It makes our time together less boring. We say weird things to each other and nobody takes offence because it’s jokes.

I was able to get to church by 7:14 a.m. because we waited to take pictures at the balcony before going. By the time I was in church, one of the ministers was taking opening prayers.

It was as if he was waiting for any choir member available to take praise and worship for workers meeting. Thus, immediately I finished writing my name in the attendance book, I collected the microphone to start praise because I’m a choir member, the choir director. To be precise.

I only sang for about 15 minutes before the pastor took over to share the Open Heavens Devotional. Today’s topic was *BEHOLD, HE COMETH. The session lasted for 25 minutes and as the Sunday school coordinator I took over to teach. Today’s Sunday school topic is THE MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB.

The service began proper as other members who are not workers joined us. Another choir member had to take the general praise and worship as I went to the back of the church to prepare ministers’ roaster for the month.

Also, there was child dedication today. The family were given the front seat to seat and the dedication was the last thing before we closed.

Oh, did I talk about the message for today? The message was taken by the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, titled: PRAISE. He stated that praising God is good, pleasant and beautiful. We watched him preach from dove tv channel.

After church, all married men were asked to wait for a brief meeting, so I joined. We were discussing plans on how to raise money to replace our drum set, since it has gone bad.
After everything, I came back home with me wife and I’m here writing as she is making food in the kitchen.
