Greetings and welcome to my blog. I hope everything is ok with you. We all enjoy eating on the streets, and every location has certain well-known street cuisine. I'll discuss some of the most well-known street dishes in my region here.

As I'm from Kashmir, I'll tell you about some of the street crusine here that I like best, they include:

  • Moonji Gaadi

  • Nadir Monji

  • Halva Parathe

  • Tyil Karre

  • Seekh Tujj ( BBQ )

Let's discuss their ingredients, preparation method, price in steem, and notoriety, so let's begin.

Moonji Gaade ( Fried Fish )

This is something for you if you enjoy seafood, particularly fish. It's a fish snack in which the fish is deep-fried after being initially coated in rice flour and besan, salt, and a little food colouring. The fish lover in you will adore this snack.

1 kg of Moonji Gaade costs around Rs. 350 INR, or about 19 steem.

Nadir Munji ( Fried Lotus Stem )

This is one of my favourite foods from the street. The main component of the dish is the stem of the lotus plant. Besan and rice flour are used to cover the stem. Food is fried after being seasoned with salt and extra spices. When you eat it, the extremely crispy surface melts in your mouth and leaves a flavour that will make you crave more.

The price of 1 kg of Nadir Munji is around 300 INR, or 16 steem.

Tyil Karre ( Fried Peas )

A well-known snack in Kashmir is Tyill Karre, which is comparable to Nadir Monje and Monje Gaadi. Tyil Karre are quite similar to french fries, however they are prepared from peas rather than potatoes. Because of this, it is a preferred side dish option for those who dislike potatoes or nadru fries. Tyil Karre are also wholesome, mouthwatering, and alluring.

The cost of 1 kg of Tyil Karre is around Rs. 150 INR, or about 8 steem.

Halva Parathe ( Big Size Bread )

Two parts make up this dish. Semolina is used to make the initial dessert, halwa. The second component is a paratha made of flour. Its enormous size, which makes it a paratha. Well worth trying, it is a sweet delight that must be eaten hot.

1 kg of halva paratha costs around Rs. 100 INR, or about 5 steem.

Seekh Tujj ( Barbecues/ BBQ )

The most delectable street cuisine is Tujj, my all-time favourite, which is prepared of minced mutton or beef and grilled over burning red flames using skewers. It is best eaten with Lavasa, the local bread of Kashmir, and a variety of chutneys. The meat is marinated with fresh spices to help the meat absorb the flavours in this popular street meal from Kashmir.

BBQs range in price from 50 to 250 Indian rupees, or 2 to 13 steems, for a single skewer of barbecue.

Kashmiris have created a cuisine that is completely unique from other cuisines throughout the world. These street dishes are famous because of their deliciousness and low cost. No one can resist eating the excellent street cuisine, which ranges from Moonji Gaade to BBQs.
