You can now see QR Code everywhere. Now a days we cannot see a store without UPI payment QR code like Gpay, Paytm, Phonepay, etc,. So in this post we will see the history of QR code and which company first used QR Code.

History of QR Code

QR stands for Quick Response Code. It is in the form of two dimensional matrix having vertical and horizontal axis. It was first invented in Japan on 1994. QR Code was first used to assemble manufacturing parts in Industries. As there was lot of confusing and mismatch in Manual assembling of parts they invented different codes with black and white boxes. They had to match the same codes before assembling the parts to avoid mismatch of parts.

Which company first used QR Code?

Denso Wave, a Japanese automotive company first discovered the QR Code. Denso wave is a subsidiary company of Toyota Motors. They used QR Code to assemble automobile parts of the cars they manufacturing. So the confusion and mismatch of the automobile parts during assembling are avoided and matched without any error.

What are types of QR Code?

There are lot of models of QR Code available in the internet. It starts from model 1 to Model 40.
Model 1 contains 21 rows and 21 columns. Like that Model 40 contains 177 rows and 177 columns. Model 1 contains simple data. when the data size increases the Model number also increases. Model 40 can hold lot of data in it.

Automatic Error correction in QR Code

QR codes use Reed–Solomon error correction method to scan and rectify error in it. If a half or small part of QR Code is torn or damaged then the scanner automatically detect the missing part and manage to form the missing code imaginarily. So it has an advantage of Automatic Error correction in it.
After the COVID-19 pandemic the QR Code become popular because of a touchless system of sharing information, money and other details. Another reason is, It is only machine readable and cannot read with human eyes.
