SEC-S13/W3 | "Bare Feet 🐾"

Hey Steemian friends!

I don't know how strange it might seem to a Westerner or someone from a developed country, but for us Sri Lankans, walking barefoot is as regular as breathing. So let me share my experiences and thoughts on the topic of "Bare Feet."

👉 Do you like walking barefoot? Explain your reasons.

I absolutely love walking barefoot! Then you can feel everything beneath your feet and that is remarkable. Specially walking in the grasses like “Grona triflora”, or on the soft sands of the beach is one of my favourite things to do. These simple things have a lot of benefits to our health because when the feet touch the ground, they stimulate our neuron system and boost our immunity.

However, roads with rocky terrain can be challenging to walk without slippers or shoes. Also, on hot days Sri Lankan Road will feel like a hot frying pan, on such days I don’t anyone to recommend to walk barefoot unless they want to feel the burn!

👉 How important is taking care of your feet?

It is very important because without feet we won’t be able to move. They are simply our primary mode of transportation, aren’t they! So while taking care of the feet from the outer appearance we have to take care of the bones too.. As we age, many people face issues like arthritis and cartilage problems, often starting from the knees. So, while we pamper our feet with pedicures, it's equally crucial to maintain strong and healthy bones. A balanced diet helps us keep our shape intact, even as we grow older.

👉 What do you think of the saying “Don't walk barefoot, parasites can get in”?

This is true to some extent especially in areas with poor sanitation and hygiene. I guess nobody wants to expose ourselves into such risk.

However, this is not the case in many places we usually visit. We shouldn't be overly cautious based on this statement. The key is to assess the environment first and then if it's a safe and clean place, feel free to kick off your shoes and enjoy the real soil, grass and truly experience the world around.

👉 What do you think of a world without shoes?

A world without shoes? That sounds pretty chaotic to me! As I mentioned earlier, our roads can feel like a hot pan on a sunny day which can fry an egg, and this doesn't just apply to us who live close to the equator. Even in cold weather, shoes are essential because they help us maintain our body heat keeping us warm. Without proper protection for our feet, going outside would be a daunting task.

And let's not forget the fashion aspect! Shoes are not just functional; they're also a style statement. They add flair and color to our outfits, enhancing our overall look. Imagine a world without stylish footwear, it would be a fashion nightmare. So even without much realization shoes have become an essential part of our daily attire and life. Now I feel how wonderful this contest is.
