A health professional is an expert in a certain area of health. He or she has studied enough and gain mastery, proficiency and specialisation in that aspect of health. They are otherwise called specialists. In the vocabulary of health and medicine, there are diverse kind of areas. And these fields are broad in scope couple with the delicate nature of dealing with human health on the whole. One person would not be able to perform these assidous demanding tasks alone, therefore the need for specialist for effective and quality health delivery.

Let's go deeper by outlining the different health professionals as we try to answer the following contest questions:

What makes someone a health professional?

It's the level of quality service delivery, the level of education and years of experience and the skills the individual possess in the field of health that qualifies him or her as a professional. This person has been certified by the appropriate health body to perform in that capacity. He or she is proficient enough to handle any health challenges that might have arisen in that angle. He or she has the neccessary knowledge to defy all known barriers to deliver quality health services and results.

Name 5 different types of health professionals and explain what they do.

Gynaecologists/Endocrinologists: They are specialists in female reproductive health and hormones. They diagnose and treat issues related to female reproductive hormones, tract which includes the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, vaginal and breast.

Medical Surgeon: Is a professional doctor who specialises in evaluating and treating a health condition that may require surgery. Surgeons lead a team of other doctors and nurses to ensure that a medical procedures is carried out smoothly.

Orthopaedics: They are specialised in diagnosing and treating problems with the bones, joints, muscles and ligaments. These conditions may result from diseases or injuries.

Dentists: They are teeth specialist. They are qualified for treating diseases and other conditions that affect the teeth and gums especially the repair and extraction of bad decayed teeth and the insertion of artificial ones.

Ophthalmologists: These are eye specialists. They are different from opticians or optometrists.
Ophthalmologists are doctor of osteopathy that have been trained and experienced in diagnosing and treating eye and any visual conditions. They are qualified to provide a comprehensive eye care which may include medical and surgical eye care.

Do you have any favourite health professionals? Why?

Yes my favorites are the gynaecologists and the medical Surgeons. These group of medical experts always treat patients with empathy, understanding, love and care. They prove themselves knowledgeable enough to perform those delicate tasks. They are hardworking, deligent, committed to render excellent medical service to save humanity. They respect patients, communicate with them in a humane manner. My most admiration towards these professionals is how they possess an in-depth knowledge to perform certain difficult surgery on those human delicate internal organs and the operations or surgeries are successful. They are geniuses.

In summary, al health professional is a person that specialises in a specific area of health care. He or she is proficient enough in delivering any health diagnoses, treatment and cure in the aspect of health challenges related to his certified field. He or she is popularly called health specialists. My most admired health professionals are the surgeons and gynaecologists. The reason why I upheld them is how they possess an in-depth knowledge to perform certain difficult surgery on those human delicate internal organs and the operations or surgeries are successful. Such ability keeps baffling me. They are legends.
