👉 What's the first step to prevent infection when treating a wound?

When treating a wound, the first step to prevent infection is by given the patient tetanus injection in the cases where a nail or any sharp object was the reason for the wound. Also you must use spirit to wash the face of the wound, this helps to kill all the gems that may have come In contact with the face of the wound before the treatment.

So the above listed are the first things to do before any other thing to prevent infection on any wound in om our body. When you do this then you are certain that you are free from infection on the wound.

👉 How do you clean a wound properly before applying medication or a bandage?

To clean your wound, you will need to use methylated spirit and cutting wool. So when you use this on the face of the wound then it helps clean the wound from every stain and blood before medication can be applied.

If you don't do this properly, the medication applied won't work effectively and that is the main reason why you must clean the face of the wound until the blood stop coming out. So that is how one should properly clean a wound.

👉 Why is it important to keep a wound moist during the early stages of healing?

Keeping the wound moist during early stage of healing helps the medicine to enter and work effectively in the wound which will help kill all gems and also help close or compress the opening that the wound has initially.

If the wound is dried during first stage of healing then the medicine won't enter properly and that could mean that there maybe some water gathered inside the wound which will also after it if not removed and properly treated.

👉 What are the signs of a possible infection in a wound, and what should you do if you suspect one?

If you begin to see that the wound has some ordu or smell then you are to know that they wound has been infected. Also if you see it dried and water still coming out from it it means that it wasn't properly washed or cleaned at the early stage.

What you have to do is to go back to the clinic and ensure that the wound is redressed and properly cleaned and washed so that all the places with infection will die off.

👉 How can you tell if a wound can be treated at home or if it needs medical attention?

Depending on the gravity of the wound. If the wound is severe then it should be rushed to the hospital immediately especially those that may need injections to prevent spread of the disease.

Minor wounds such as a bit knife cut or bruises can be taken care of at home by applying some of the first aid items we have such as using hot water and the likes. This will help the wound to heal faster then expected.
