Medical Talk Wk 2 - Homeopathy Vs Conventional Medicine
"Medical Talk Wk 2 - Homeopathy Vs Conventional Medicine"
Greetings! I cordially invite everyone to this Medical Talk program, and warm welcome to all. Today, we delve into an intriguing topic: “Homeopathy vs Conventional Medicine.” Here, we welcome all the members of Steemit Platform.
Firstly, let’s address the question: Is homeopathy as effective as mainstream medicine? Homeopathy is a system of therapeutics developed in the 17th century that utilizes very diluted and minute amounts of plants and minerals to promote healing. However, the research is limited and most studies suggest that any results or outcomes are due to placebo effect.
[Placebo Effect refers to the phenomenon where people gain some form of benefit after they have received an inactive compound or treatment, termed a placebo. This substance has no known medical impact and could be in the form of a pill, injection or consumable liquid. ” In other words, the improvement is not because of the content itself but rather because one believes or expects to receive genuine good treatment. The placebo effect is more than simply having a good mind set. This phenomenon may be the result of various factors such as hormonal reactions and conditioning.]
Is the government supposed to fund homeopathy just as they do with conventional medicine? This is a contentious issue. Some nations are interested in and some are not, even though the sum of money spent by U.S consumers on homeopathic drugs was about $1.2 billion in 2014 as per my google exploration, there are several who believe that public funds ought not be used for treatments hence they have weak scientific backing.
But in India, the government does support homeopathy as well as conventional medicine. The Ministry of Ayush, Government Of India offers health care facilities all over the country using six conventional treatment approaches such as homeopathy. They also control the quality of education in all Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy colleges.
In addition, there have been recommended laws to provide for homeopathic health services through the ‘Ayushman Bharat’ programme. An agreement has also been signed between the World Health Organization WHO and Government of India for setting up a Global Centre for Traditional Medicine. This center, backed with an investment of USD 250 million from the Indian Government aims at utilizing modern science and technology to tap into therapeutic potential that lies in traditional medicine across the world in order to improve health both for humanity as well as planet earth.
Nevertheless, whether the government would fund homeopathy in the same way they finance conventional medicine depends on their healthcare policies and priorities. And another important thing that must be noted is the fact that any kind of medicine homeostasis or conventional medicine should have solid scientific evidence to back up its effectiveness and safety.
How qualified are homeopathic practitioners in comparison to regular doctors? The answer varies based on countries and their people beliefs and knowledge, I think. Some homeopaths are legitimately licensed medical professionals, while others were likely trained mostly through apprenticeship. The training and certification can vary so it is very important to research well. Both homeopathic physicians and regular doctors in India undergo a lot of education and training before they can begin practicing.
Homeopathic Practitioners:
In India, a homeopathic practitioner is required to have at least an undergraduate degree in Homeopathy consisting of five and half years comprising both classroom instructions as well clinical training concerning treatment aspect. The National Commission for Homoeopathy governs the qualification requirements of colleges offering training in Homeopathy.
Regular Doctors:
A regular doctor in India, sometimes known as an allopathic physician has to obtain a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MD degree. This is also a five and half years program which includes the year of rotating internship. Doctors can function as General Physicians after MBBS or continue with Post-Graduation in specialization.
However, the kind of medicine they follow and their treatment approach may vary. It should also be noted that the impact of treatment can differ, and it is always best to seek consultation with a healthcare practitioner for medical advice.
I suggest only if they want. It is a personal choice homeopathic and conventional. Some believe homeopathy is more natural and thus safer. However, it is also worth noting that the evidence for efficacy and safety of homeopathic remedies varies.
While we wind up, while homeopathy presents a different method to healing one still needs to make an informed choice regarding healthcare matters. Always contact healthcare professionals, review the scientific evidence and select a treatment plan that works best for your individual needs. The aim is best health, and there are a lot of ways to achieve. Stay healthy, stay informed!
