The Science of Aging


Hello friends, welcome to my blog. Today I am participating in a healthy Steem contest on The Science of Aging.

Aging is the process which we start to deteriorate in our mental and physical abilities and functions affecting our survival and reproduction.

👩 What is the medical process behind aging and from which age it actually starts?

To keep us alive and in good shape, our body keeps renewing itself in a cellular level as if we are going to live forever. Aging is a very complex natural process that happen when this "renewing mechanism" slowly starts to fail with time.
The failing repair and renewing mechanism is affected by time, genetic, environment, and lifestyle. We see the result of the failing as wrinkles, reduced strength, and increased risk of disease.

Some people believe that we start growing old when we become an adult at 25 years. But it is different for different people. I know few people who are younger than their age. The difference is caused by genetics, lifestyle and other factors.

👩 Are you afraid of becoming older and if yes then what are the challanges of aging that are making you afraid from getting older?

My grandparents and parents are doing well in their old age, because we share some of this genetics. I believe genetics, lifestyle and environmental factors will favour me in some ways when I grow old. In Africa, we care for aged relatives With all the care. aging comes with pain and poor health. Eye problems difficulty moving, stigmatization, hearing problems, dependency and a loss of memory and vitality. This generation of children do not take good care of the aged people around them. They don't have the patience.
👩 Write any three nutritional items that can preventing aging?

Taking in vitamin C and E can keep our cells from getting too damaged, keeping us young for a longer time.
Eating Omega-3 fatty acid to gain it anti-aging property is a good way to stay young.
If you do exercise well, it will slow the aging process. Mental exercise is also good for old age. Eating natural vegetables and fruits can help us stay young longer.

👩 Write any three exercises that can makes you looking young even in older age?

Yoga as exercise keeps us flexible in our old age. People who do physical activities like dancing, walking, and playing sport get the advantage in their old age.
Small well monitored exercise in old age is beneficial to the aged people.
Athletes generally look young in their old age, doing some resistance training, Aerobics and Climbing Stairs. Top 10 Anti-Aging Exercises

Hey @kesybliss, how is Nigeria today?
I love what you wrote in this article, especially the part about us in Africa being caring towards the elderly and old. We truly do not neglect them during such times, they become our responsibility. Just like you, I am concerned about the loss of sight and hearing because I am a very curious guy. The items selected for combating aging are great especially the vegetables and vitamins because they provide vital nutrients that are lacking during Old age. Climbing is a reliable exercise that helps old people a lot to become more flexible than expected.

Aging is a natural and inescapable phenomenon that happens to people who are advanced in age. This period is when your body tissues begin to decline slowly due to age issues.
