INFLAMMATION

Inflammation is a natural phenomenom we experience in our life but pay less concern to. Basically it is a natural means by which the human is able to ward off infections from injuries, and other harmful nervous responses. It is usually observed by a reddish sensation, heat sore, and swelling on the affected part, serious pain, and sometimes loss of function in the affected area.

Inflammation could be experienced in basically two forms which are the acute inflammation or the chronic inflammation.

ACUTE INFLAMMATION
This is the way the human body quickly tries to fight or ward off infections from cuts and other injuries, which could take few days or more. For instance, if you get bruised on a part of your skin, it would be noticed that there is a sudden warm red sensation around the spot, and with time it begins to swell as the body tries to heal the wound.

CHRONIC INFLAMMATION
This is the end product of acute inflammation, basically because it was not treated well while it was acute and could possibly result from persistent infections, or severe exposure to environmental irritants such as pollution. Chronic inflammation could bring damage to the tissues and it is also connected to other diseases.

CAUSES OF INFLAMMATION

INFECTION
Infections could be a bacteria, a fungi, or a vurus. It can trigger the disease fighting system to cause inflammatory sensation while it ward off the infections.

INJURIES
When there is a cut or bruise on the skin, fluids, proteins escape to the injured tissue through a process called exudation.

SEVERE DISEASE
People suffering from severe diseases such as obesity and diabetes usually experience chronic inflammation.

HARMFUL SUBSTANCE
When the body is constantly exposed to harmful irritants and chemical, the body is greatly irritated usually making the person scratch the spot leading to a warm sensation which is an inflammation of which if not treated well could turn chronic.

ALLERGIC CONDITIONS*: Certain allergens such as dust, food substances or even some drugs could cause inflammation.

UNEXAMINED LIFESTYLE
Unbalanced diet, irregular exercise, stress disorders, and lack of sleep could trigger an inflammatory sensation.

PREVENTION
BALANCED DIET
Healthy foods like fruits and vegetables should be inclusive in daily diet.

FOOD CHECK Consumption of processed foods should be reduced alongside intake of too much red meat.

EXERCISE
Regular exercise is essential to keep the body up and doing as it helps to reduce inflammation and boost the immune system.

STRESS REDUCTION
Excessive stress could cause the body system to release pro-inflammatory chemicals. Practices like rest and sleep is best recommended for stress reduction and healthy living.

ABSTINENCE FROM SMOKING AND ALCOHOLISM
Smoking and alcoholism could cause serious inflammation there by causing long-term health issues.

Inflammation is natural which you’ve mentioned but it is up to us humans to know how to handle so it doesn’t yield negative effects. The two forms of inflammation are well explained. I wrote about inflammation on my blog few days ago, you can visit my blog to see my view on this.

Inflammation can be a very critical condition if kept untreated.
It is advisable to seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
Also, maintaining healthy eating habit is a good preventive measure as well..
