Steemit Engagement Challenge, S9w1 : "Women Are Always Right!

Hi everyone,
I welcome you all to the first week of the Steemit engagement challenge for season 9. A platform where we get the chance to engage with one another and share opinions.

Here is my take on the topic for this week from this community which says "Women Are Always Right!”. Without further ado, lets get started.

The impression of men saying the ladies are always right I think is a bit aggressive on them. Some men also claim to be always right and know it whereas, none of them can always be right. Remember, no one is an island of knowledge and as much as we all keep learning and making mistakes, no one is always right.

On surfing the net a few days back, I came across an article with the header "SCIENTIFIC REASONS ON WHY WOMEN ARE ALWAYS RIGHT" By CHINELO EZE and I was eager to be amazed so I opened to see the scientific proof. To the credit of the writer, that was a nice argument, but with all that, I still don't believe anyone can be always right as non of us humans are Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent.

It is every man's dream to have a peaceful home (I would say everyone and not just men), nobody wants their home to be a warzone, this thus explains why they tend to give in for peace to reign. That little act of giving in or saying sorry you are right and waiting to see the outcome can save war between two battalions.

Having at the back of my mind that no one is ever always right, letting them walk out of a few situations won't bruise your fragile ego. Yes, there are occasions in which you have to let them know they are right when you have more evidence to win the argument, but then there are times giving in is more important than who is right. So no, women shouldn't get away with always being right but only if you have conclusive evidence to prove otherwise.

In occasions such as the period of pregnancy and sickness, women can be entitled to being always right because they need all the care and attention they can get. After all, even children get want they want when they are ill and we know all children know is sweet things and not being right.

As I live among women being my elders, I have been opportune to learn and believe that women are always right when it comes to the following aspect;

• Their bodies, the kind of hairstyle, body lotion, clothes to wear and care for children.

• The nutrition of the family. Being a young bachelor myself, I can't even come up with what to eat today alone, but the ladies plan these meals sometimes for the entire week.

• Finance management in the family, as I said in the family, not when single. There is this popular notation around when a husband goes to the market, the market women are happy, but when the wife goes to the market, the market women compromise. That's to say the man that has is ready to spend lavishly whereas the woman will economize and still produce the best result for the family.

In all these scenarios, women don't compromise, but they are not just right in only these situations, women believe themselves to be right at all times unless proven wrong, and sometimes when proven wrong it turns down to their emotions and bruises their egos.

There's this funny incident I just can't seem to forget. Remember when I said women are always right about their bodies? Yes, this was a similar case.

I was a partaker in a body anatomy quiz, feeling confident as usual, and then came a female anatomy question on my screen, and with my hand on my chest, I chose the option I thought was right. My younger sister who was passing by, seeing my choice of answer said I picked the wrong options, I was like what do you know cause we are talking about College questions here and she is still in elementary.

To my utmost surprise, when the answer was tuned in, I was wrong and the option she had picked was the correct one, and I stood there amazed at what has just happened and she was full of smiles with the "I told you so" look.

My suggestion to women is that they should try the approach of peace and not always being right. As you have feelings and ego so do the men. Especially in your most emotional/vulnerable state, Pregnancy.

Try to understand the men as they try to be understanding with you also coupled with the stress, don't add more to it. It will be like adding petrol to the fire. Wanting to prove that one is always right will cause more arguments and arguments can lead to fights which are the end of Peace at home. Remember a peaceful and supportive home is always what we've all wanted.

The saying "women are always right" is not always true neither are men or anyone always right. Let's learn to accommodate and improve each other rather than proving who's right and who's not. Let's have a common ground and remember all we want is peaceful coexistence.
