Hello friends, for this week's Choices contest by @patjewell, I will be sharing with you a Smile. The smallest of bridges but something special to everyone.
What is a smile? |
---|
A smile is a portrayal of joy, pleasure, and happiness. A smile is the simplest facial expression made by curving the muscles near both ends of the mouth. Smiling is the gateway to expressing the feeling of excitement, love, joy, and happiness.

Smile as simple as it is, is the best and most affordable therapy we can take to feel better. Smiling is a contagious therapy that can illuminate even the darkest of days. Smiling is a language understood by all and sundry from their cradle age to old age as everyone smiles in the same language be it an adult or a toddler or even an infant.
To be frank, Infants tend to have the most contagious smiles among all age groups and yet they can not utter even a word, just smiles. Borrowing the words of Sia "No one is fully dressed without a smile". A smile is indeed an influential tool that can profit us in countless ways. Therefore, I encourage everyone to Wear a smile, as one size of it, fits all.
Why everyone should put on a Smile in Life |
---|
Smiling is an essential ingredient in everyone's life. It can enhance relationships, make someone look approachable, and overall it makes everyone feel happier. Smiling is understood to have a wide range of social, mental, and health benefits which include;
It is indeed very easy for anyone to feel down when faced with challenges in life. But the smallest size of smiles can help anyone stay positive and see the challenge in a more hopeful way. Hence, the power to turn bright the darkest of nights. One can say smiling makes you happy no matter the situation.
There is a popular saying that humans require less for smiling, compared to frowning. Our skin wrinkles as we grow old or frown often. However, if we learn to smile often, the muscles around our eyes will stay strong, in turn, help in preventing wrinkles from forming.
It is also medically proven that the smallest of smiles can lower one's blood pressure and heart rate and also help to boost the immune system.
This is the feel-good part, it's the part where our smiles trigger a smile in the face of those people around us. When someone smiles at you, you instantly return the smile in most cases because it creates a cheerful response that can make everyone feel delighted. it's often seen when infants smile, and the entire household is happy and smiling back.
When someone smiles, a message is sent to those around that the person is pleased with him/herself. It does not merely make us feel good emotionally, but it also helps us build confidence in society and those around us that we are approachable.
Smiling is the easiest social bridge that connects us with others. When we smile at somebody, it depicts that we admire them, we are friendly and approachable. No one walks up to someone angry and asks to be their friend even with all the confidence in the world.
This and many more are what a tiny bitty smile can do for you, so why not start smiling more frequently? It’s certainly worth it. With a Smiling face, you not only feel happier yourself but also have the chance of making someone else feel much better too.
So how do you create your smile? |

I believe anyone and everyone can smile because smiling is one natural and automatic response to expressing ourselves that we have. Just ensure your teeth are healthy by brushing and flossing regularly. Why so? This is because most people refuse to smile feeling someone would laugh at their broken teeth or oily teeth when they smile. For me, this doesn't even matter as the ultimate goal is to express your feelings by flexing the muscles at each end of your mouth no matter what.
CONCLUSION |
---|
We should learn to smile more often today and every day. That way, we can bring some positivity into our world through smiles. Smiling not shows we are happy but also improves our social, mental, and physical health. So, we should put on a smile and make the world happier today. I like to invite the following users @yakspeace, @ruthjoe and @petface
THANK YOU!
NOTE: Always have a smile on your face, as you are never fully dressed without one.
Thank you, friend!

You had so many nice things to say about smiling that I don’t even know what I can add. In fact, I will say the same thing as your friend, “A smile is indeed an influential tool that can profit us in countless ways. Therefore, I encourage everyone to wear a smile.”
