Application Community Curator for October 2023

I greet you,

Valuable lessons are taught and learned on Steemit.

Last month, I could not submit my application for September due to our electricity and network being down. The lesson learned: don’t leave your application to the last minute. So, yah, here I am, early this month.

Requirements

✔Look beyond own community when casting votes especially when selecting Posts of the Week.
✔Seek out posts across different languages and different communities.
✔Vote on good comments
✔Reputation of at least 70
✔At least 11,500 SP of your own

My fellow curator teammates will vow that I am one of those who seek posts from communities where I am not involved, which are different, from different countries, different languages, and from authors who deserve a vote for a great attempt.

As for voting on good comments, this was introduced by The7Up’s curating team, which I was part of and have had my support for since then.

My history and responsibilities on Steemit

I joined Steemit in 2016 and was active for +/- 2 months. I returned to the platform at the beginning of February 2022 and have been actively on it since, following Club100 status.

I’ve been active on Steemit not only by posting posts but also by lending a helping hand to communities, admins, moderators, and my fellow Steemians.

My biggest contribution to Steemit is helping Steemians write better posts, increase their performances, assist communities, and pay forward what I have learned about the platform.

This I do by:

• Writing educational posts
• Hosting two weekly contests through which Steemians can learn and earn
• Advising through my comments
• Regularly following up Steemians who received help
• Giving advice and support on WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord

In the 19 months that I have been actively involved in Steemit, I have held the following positions:

• I’ve been a curator for 7 months with The7Up’s, Team Lucky Dip, and Team 4
• I have been an advisor to Steem Kids & Parents for 19 months
• I have been an advisor on Healthy Steem for the last 4 months
• I was a representative for South Africa for numerous months
• I have been an admin on Steem For Ladies for the last 8 months
• I have been a Steem Representative for the last 25 weeks
• I am an active author and post regular posts
• I’ve put together a guideline for moderators, and I am helping various communities on a regular basis

My experience in real life

I am a business analyst and studied political science and law.

I am also a business owner, mother, grandmother, and housewife.

As for the various business experiences, they are mainly in the hospitality, financial, and IT industries.

I enjoy reading and therefore have no preference for what posts I would like to curate.

My country

I was born, raised, and live on the eastern coast of South Africa, where I speak two languages, namely Afrikaans and English.
