Greetings to all steemit ladies and gentlemen reading my entry.

I think this generally depicts gender equality. If I put it this way, the question if boys and girls should be raised the same way is quite challenging because I would say yes and no but in different topics of discussion.

Educationally, boys and girls should be raised the same way, gone are the days where a girl child will be kept in the kitchen preparing food for her young siblings and men visiting their parents or husband, who may not even give her all the respect she needs, I am so grateful to the law that permits the girl child into educational institution. It has really helped expose the girl child to some certain rights which will make them stand out in the society.

In providing for their needs, I would say they shouldn't be raised the same way with reasons.

• Firstly, a boy child is meant to be very much independent at a certain age, it is obvious that he will always be the one caring for others soon, so always providing everything he needs will make him lazy and may not be able to work so hard for himself

• On the contrary, must the boy child always suffer, can't he sit and enjoy himself, the society has made us see the boy as one who must always struggle, because he might not have all the necessary resources to make him live a life free of stress. It is true that boys must always struggle no matter which class you belong to. In fact every boy should understand that the higher the class you are, the more problems and stress you face.

A boy prayed to be given birth to in a rich family because he was always eating once everyday, he never wanted to face suffer, so his wish came true, he was born into a rich family whose father was into drugs, he always witness cases where gangs will fight and wound themself, get arrested, his father would be beaten and arrested several times. A lot of violence happened, he hardly slept at night and he regretted being born there.

• Girls are so delicate, they are weaker vessels as the bible will always point out and must be handled with care, yes girls were not meant to pass through stress, they were to be taken care of. If they are not, they may be lured by men or bad boys in doing things that may affect their lives. A friend of mine @blessingogah-1 says she can't be easily enticed by what is presented to them by the opposite gender because she has always been well taken care of by her parents.This is true girls need to be provide with necessary things and in fact the cost of raising girls is more than the cost of grooming the boys.

In our strive to pursue gender equality, we should understand that even though we choose to raise boys and girl the same way, societal, environmental factor and nature will always counter our strive because in the course of life challenges are faced and experiences obtained. I see a new generation of girls that are not ready to settle for the less from the statement women can always do what men do. The girl child today is exposed to danger and so is the boy, training can be done based on the society/environment they find themself.
