Christmas Elf is a mythical tiny creature. The elves are often associated with the holiday season. They are known for their mischievous and helpful nature. They act as a helper for Santa Claus in the north pole. It is believed that an elf take care of the reindeer of the Santa along with other tasks. They play a significant role in many Christmas traditions and stories. These are also known as the employees or the assistant of the Santa.

Elves are typically small in size. Their appearance begins with pointy ears and a mischievous smile like the jokers. They look mischievous from their face. They have a large pointing hat. They have red or green dressing. As I have mentioned in its introduction they are the helper of the Santa Claus. It is believed that they work with Santa in his workshop in which Santa Claus makes gifts and toys for the children. The elf works diligently with Santa at the North pole. Here is an interesting fact about the elves. According to folklore elves have been a part of Christmas traditions for the last centuries. And it first started in Norse mythology and Scandinavian folklore. So the involvement of elf in the Christmas traditions as a helper of Santa is very old.

In Norse mythology elves were known as the spirits of nature. These are seen as supernatural beings linked with fertility and prosperity. As the time passed these mythical creatures became the part of Christmas celebrations. And nowadays these are essential in the Christmas celebrations and traditions. In these old stories it was believed that the elves were responsible for bringing good luck and joy during the holiday season. So due to these beliefs people involve it in the Christmas which is a holiday season as well.

Elves have become iconic figures in Christmas folklore. These can be seen in different things such as in countless books. There are movies which represent the elves and their helping behaviour towards Santa Claus. An Elf is also discussed in poems and songs. Their cheerful and hardworking nature represents the spirit of giving and joy during the holiday season. Children often write letters to Santa Claus. In those letters they express their wishes and desires. They talk about their favourite things and gifts and they believe that the elf is busy in making their wishes come true as he is working with Santa for the preparation of gifts and toys for them. So the children send their requests to Santa's elf to make their desired toys and gifts.

The contribution of elves to Christmas is a lot. And they play a great role in Santa's workshop. They are also associated with other festive traditions. There are different amazing festive traditions about the elf. A famous tradition about elf is the Elf on the Shelf. The Elf on the Shelf is a popular book among the children. This amazing book tells the interesting story of the scout elves of Santa Claus. This book tells about the services and work of an elf. It tells that the elves visit homes during the holiday season. And then they report back to Santa about the behaviour of the children. Because they believe that the good prizes will be given to the children with good behaviour according to the report of elves. This tradition has become very popular worldwide. It had become a way of fun for the families and to create amazing and wonderful moments. It builds more features and excitement to Christmas.

In 1932 an animation short movie was introduced with the name of Santa's Workshop. It explained the Santa and his elves making preparations for the Christmas event. Similarly with the time many movies and dramas have been published in which different works have been shown of elves for the Santa. And this character is not only limited in the movies but also in the modern books. These elves have different names and appearances according to the region and country. Even they have unique names according to their country and work.

Conclusion

Elves have a rich history. They play a significant role in the traditions of Christmas. They have captured the imagination of the people that they work with in the workshop of Santa to prepare the gifts for the children. They are helping hands with their mischievous characteristics. The elves add a sense of magic and wonder to the holiday season.

Elves remind us of the importance of helping others. They teach us about the hard work and spreading joy. They inspire us to embrace the joy of giving. They give us happiness and entertain us through the iconic image of the workshop Santa. They make us wonder and joyful with the mischievous adventures of the Elf on the Shelf. Elves have become an integral part of our Christmas celebrations.
