THE DIARY GAME: LAWSAN ELECTIONS RESULTS AT BSU CAMPUS// BY @young-ancient:10% PAYOUT TO @STEEMALIVE||JOINING CLUB5050

INTRODUCTION

Hello Steemians, I remain @young-ancient and I'm glad to be a member of this wonderful community #steemalive. Today, I would love to share about our LAWSAN ELECTIONS in Benue State University(BSU) campus.

Law Students' Association of Nigeria(LAWSAN) is a national body of law students in Nigeria. Each faculty of Law in Nigerian Universities is a registered member of LAWSAN and the LAWSAN body in BSU is known as Law Students' Association of Nigeria(LAWSAN) BSU CHAPTER. At the beginning of each session which usher in new set of students at all levels(from 100-500level, elections are to be held by an appointed LAWSAN electoral committee.

It is a fact of common knowledge that every organization or association needs competent members to lead or spearhead it. A person(s) who leads is known as a leader and the capacity to lead is known as leadership. Hence, the event of elections at the Faculty of Law, BSU campus.

THE ELECTIONS

Elections in ordinary parlance is one of the process/methods through which one acquires leadership with the votes/support of the other members of a particular community or organization. It is therefore based on this fact that, LAWSAN organised and held elections for her to choose her leaders.

LAWSAN BSU CHAPTER had a number of positions for students to contest for, ranging from the President, vice president, director of socials, director of sports, P.R.O(public relations officer), Secretary and Attorney General of LAWSAN. Apart from the post of President and Vice President, every other post ran unopposed. Hence, the elections were held for the post of President and vice president only.

For the post of the President, two persons contested, Benedict Ater(500Level) and Solomon Jirgba(500Level).

For the vice president, P.M Udeh and Yiman Jacob Iorwuese contested.

All campaigns for the elections which started on 13th December, 2021 ended on the 10th day of January, 2022. Elections were held on the 14th day of January, 2022(from 12:00pm -4pm). Due to political apathy among students, 392 students out of a total number of 800+ participated in the election.

The results were announced by 6:30pm. Benedict Ater won presidential election and P. M Udeh won Vice President of LAWSAN. Jubilation makes dance moves for LAWSANITES. On the 18th January, 2022, all elected officials were inauguralted into their various official capacities.

I personally participated in the elections and I'm glad my anticipated contestants won the elections. I really hope for a transparent, accountable and effective leadership in LAWSAN.

JOINING CLUB5050

In order to join club5050, I converted all my SBD(3.298) to STEEM. I had a total of 41. 474 Steem which I powered up all to a total of 53.810 Steempower.

CONCLUSION
