INTRODUCTION

Good morning friends, how are you doing, I hope you are doing well? My name is Uzoma with Steemit username; @uzoma24. Here in @steemalive, am concerned the last born.

In this post, I wish to bring you my diary of 9th November 2021. On this day under review, I traveled to Eket Akwa Ibom state to see a client of mine who wants me to come measure his friends for a uniform they would like to wear for an upcoming event.

MY MORNING

On this day under review, I woke up at about 5:30 am, said my morning prayers and started preparing for my trip. After my routine warm-up. I had a warm bath and tea and bread for breakfast. I called that my customer to send me direction to the place I will be meeting him and his friends, soon after. The message entered my phone and I set out on my way.

As we all know, the Indegenios People Of Biafra - IPOB had placed a seat at home order as a bid to frustrate the Anambara election which will help pressure the government to release Maazi Nnamdi Kalu who is been held unconstitutionally for self determination. As a result, there will not be regular movement of people. And I know it would affect my movement to Eket, but I had no other option.

MY TRIP

Because I was traveling to Eket, I had to go through AKTC which is the only motor park that conveys traveler to Eket town from Aba. On my way to the park, I stopped over an ATM machine to make some withdrawals to enable me take care of my travel expenses.

At about 8:15 am, I was at AKTC motor park. I quickly went to where they board Eket bosses and obtained a ticket, while I was completing the manifest, I discovered that I was the fourth person to join the 18 seater bus. Regardless, I paid since it was still morning and as such, I believed more passengers will come along soon so as to arrive Eket before noon as i had agreed with the people I was going to meet, but I was wrong.

After I had bought my ticket, I sat down alongside other passengers and driver's who were seated under a canopy having a chat. I joined the conversation while we waited for more passengers to come. As the wait lasted, I was looking out for hawkers who sell stockings because I had none on, when none was forthcoming, I excused myself from the rest and walked to Aba main park which is about four poles away from where I was, I bought myself two pairs of stockings. I stored one in my bag while I wore the other imediately.

I returned to the park and the wait continued, at about 10am, one other passenger came along. By 11am we were about 7 passengers. I was becoming very uncomfortable because the time I had agreed for the meeting was already at hand. Eventually, our bus rolled out of the park at about 12:30 pm with only 10 passengers on board. I arrived Eket at about 3pm and chatared a bike to Ona whare the meeting is to hold. Below is a picture of me on the bike.

The people I went to see were very displeased at my lateness, but I tried explaining to them why I came late God willing they understood with me and we transacted. I measured the four of them and we discussed other details of the job which included type and color of the fabrics, design and delivery time.

In about an hour, I was done with them and I headed back to the park. This time, there wasn't any direct bus from Eket to Aba, so I had to go through Uyo. Below are some if the pictures I took at AKTC park, Uyo

Coincidentally, I met again with one of the men I traveled with from Aba. This time,we did not spent up to 30 minutes in the park before our bus rolled out at about 5pm. Initially, the journey was very smooth and enjoying until we entered Abia state, only then did we start feeling the effects of bad road. We arrived Aba at about 6:30 and i headed home imediately.

CONCLUSION

When i got to the house, I had a warm bath and lay down and rested.

I didn't have strenth to prepare anything for dinner, instead, I had some fruits i had bought on my way home and retired to bed. I tried following my favourite television series when sleep came along.

That was how my day went. Thank you for stopping by my blog, am grateful.

Yes. I really thank God for journey mercies granted me.
Thanks You @nsikakedem

Though the delay at the park you had a successful day, you must be a good fashion designer that is why those people call you. Keep it up!

Yes, we are good. And am very grateful that I was able travel to and from Eket without hitches.

Thank you @goodybest for stopping by.

It's my pleasure!

Its tiring when you have to sit and wait for other passengers you know and one has to be patient no matter the outcome.
Thank God your clients were understanding and it all went well.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello dear @uzoma24,
I must tell you that the experience of waiting in the motor pack for other passengers go fill up the bus is very frustrating especially when you have an appointment with time trust me I know that feeling

But am glad that despite the whole delay you were able to get to your destination.

Glad to hear from you sir

Hi @adyofpolicy

You are correct. It doesn't feel well.
The worst part was that this person continued calling on phone and each time he calls, I will perceive the displeasure in his voice.

Thank you for stopping by, am grateful

Thank God for a successful journey

Thank you dear @nenyebaby

At a time, I wanted to withdraw from the trip, but thank God I was able to go and return in one piece.

@uzoma24, The distance from Aba to Eket is not quite far. I was thinking it takes hours. Well, thank goodness your journey was smooth and save.

I wish to visit the town on a good day. Thank you for sharing your post in steemalive community.

Good afternoon @ninnapenda

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
All things being equal, the journey to Eket should be about an hour 30 minutes. But because of bad road, it now takes about 2hours 30 minutes or even more.

Oh!!! That's a whole lots of time. Well any day I am ready to go, I will have my mind prepared. I don't like long journey.

I just hope the bad road will be fixed before I get to visit the town.

@ninapenda I personally love long journeys.
I will be back to that city around second week of January for a short vacation.

Will you like to join me?

My pleasure.... Just hook me up. Hopefully, I will be joining you.

Thank you @samuel20.

Am so glad that my post made the list today, I have long waited and prayed for this day.

For journey mercies granted me, I give it all to the Lord who made Heaven and Earth.

I like your determination because, you had so many reasons not to continue with the journey again namely; the sit at home order, low turn up of fellow travelers from Aba, But your continued. This is determination in action.

Yes! Those reasons were very obvious, but I couldn't have backed down because I had an appointment already fixed, and those people need those clothes to be delivered in about 10 days for an upcoming event on the 21st of this month.

Thank you @goodness4real for stopping by
