Introduction

SteemAlive Greeters Guild (SGG) is a volunteer program designed to make new members feel welcome and at home in our community. It is also designed to help us reach out to other users that may like to join our community. Engagement is an important part of the steemit platform which should be as strong as we can make it. We are eager to show new users right from the start that they can find the kind of closeness and a sense of belonging that we all crave for. That is the essence of this project.

SteemAlive has done a similar project called SUG. But for some reasons, it is not as active as we wanted it. Now, with many new users joining our community everyday, we need a committed group of people that will welcome them and make them understand a few important details for all beginners. That is the essence of this project

The work of SGG volunteers

SGG volunteers are going to do two important work for us. Here are them:

1. Reply Introduction Posts announced in SteemAlive Whatsapp Page

This is the first and most important work for all SGG volunteers. We usually announce New SteemAlive members and introduce them to the community through their first post. We expect SGG volunteers to quickly reply these introduction posts in a smart and informative way. There comments should contain something the newcomer need to know or do. It should include some or all of these important things:

• Engagement is important. They should reply all comments on the introduction post
• Always check @steemitblog for updates.
• Mention contests and where they are found - #contest tag
• Talk about LID, an important SteemAlive project
• Mention the diary game or any other Steemit projects

2. Reach out to Nigerians and other new users

The SGG volunteer will also help the community to grow if they area able to direct new users to the SteemAlive community. Its easy to get new Nigerian users through the Newcomers Community of @cryptokannon. They can visit this community, make a comment on any Nigerian new user and try to reach them directly through Whatsapp, discord or email. When they establish such connections, they can let the community admin know of this new user so that they are properly guided and announced as members.

Non Nigerians are still welcome to join SteemAlive.

What to do at the end of the week (Saturday)

The volunteer will help us to a post with the screnshot of all the helpful comments made for new users announced in SteemAlive and the ones they got from scouting Newcomers community. This will help the SteemAlive admins to track the work of any SGG volunteer.

Rewarding SGG volunteers

We are taking this project serious and would do all within our limited resources to reward hardworking SGG volunteers. Here are the ways we hope to support them:

1. We will make a post each weekend to highlight their work for us. SGG volunteers will be set as beneficiaries of this post.
2. We will make sure their post at the end of the week gets support.
3. We will may also send them some Steem at our discretion.

Note: Rewards would be directly proportional to the amount of work done as a volunteer

Conclusion

We really appreciate the efforts of various people in our community that work tirelessly to make us great. We also thank you in advance for volunteering to support this project. Like all our projects, we hope to achieve the desired results through SGG.
