WHAT DOES STEEM MEAN TO YOU- contest entry by@ngoenyi
INTRODUCTION
Steem? Yes steem, ever since @focusnow introduced steem to me, I have come to study and understand it. Steem can mean different things to different people depending on who introduced it to them, why they joined and their goals in life including their location. But to me steem has a good number of things it means to me.
MEANING OF STEEM TO ME
An employment opportunity: An idle mind they said is the devils work shop. Staying unemployed with nothing serious doing can lead to so many vices in the society. But signing up in steemit has kept me busy, I am working in that I regularly login to post articles, curate posts, engage with friends, learn new things and new ways of doing things. Thank God for steem.
It is also an income source: All the activities I mentioned above are not without pay. They all generate income to me. Every day, I usually see unclaimed rewards, add to balance. I mean good money. In less than 3 months I entered, even as a learner, I have made more than 30000 naira. Can you imagine that. Which means if I finally become a pro, I will make more than that in a monthly basis.
It is an avenue of tourism: Yes, I can stay right inside the comfort of my home and connect with people around the world. Time may fell me if I begin to mention the people I have met and connect with as a result of signing up in Steemit. Someone like @njiatanga from Cameron, @haidermehdi from Pakistan and others.
It is also a means of savings: I can decide to buy steem to power up which in turn increases my earnings potential. The money when at hand can easily varnish in no time and with nothing tangible to account for it. It I decide to save in the bank, their charges will keep reducing it until it becomes useless. But saving it here guarantees both it's safety and growth.
It is a means of advert/promotion: As one keeps posting and engaging in contests like this, one inadvertently sales him or herself to the people that needs either you as a person or what you do. That is why, during the first achievement as a new comer, one is expected to introduce him or herself to the steemit community.
There are still many other things that steem means to me. Many of which I am yet to confirm as I keep studying steemit platform but rest assured that steemit is all win win situation. I will keep moving forward, no stopping, no parking always increasing my knowledge about steem.
CONCLUSION
I sincerely appreciate @beautychicks for coming up with this contest. This has really depened my appreciation for Steem/steemit. My appreciation also goes to @focusnow for introducing me to steemit and mentoring me. I am gratful the @steemitblog for encouraging contests which entices me to be busy always. And to all who has contributed in no small measure towards my growth in this great steemit world, thank you all.

Friend @ngoenyi, your post is very enlightening and expresses many of the things that I think can be done with #Steemit. I had been logged in for a while but recently I have been actively logged in. I totally agree with your perceptions of the platform and in fact, I think I will add a few more, which were the ones that originally prompted me to sign up.
