Sometime ago, I came across someone that does planting of seed tomatoes as his job, he showed me and told me that we can plant and harvest our own tomatoes in every where we live in Nigeria. It's not only productive in the Northern Nigeria. He now did as he said and harvested so many basins of tomatoes, I was impressed and decided to tutor us here in case you are interested so you can learn and do as he did, get the results he got too.

Everything in life has a process or processes of production. Seed tomatoes is not an exemption.
When some tomatoes got rotten, the people in charge will gather them in a container allowed to be completely rotten and very soft, then the process of squeezing it to sieve and gather the needed seed will set in which you can see her manually doing here.

This too is close to the first process but now, she will begin to sieve the tomato water out from the seed she is gathering. She does everything manually you may not see any filtering machine around, but she knows what to do and how to get at her final stage of everything.

How To Dry The Wait Seeds Ready For Planting

Tomatoes are fragile in nature, they need proper care to deliver their mission to the tomato farmer in his farm else he may labour in vain.
According to my friend who tutored me, you are not supposed to over dry seed tomatoes on a very hot sun light, though you can sun dry it but you must check up the level of the hotness of the sun. It's best dried on a room temperature not on very hot and serious sun light.

Drying Method

She said, you first of all spread the drier agent like mat, big and wide trampoline on the floor, then gradually spread the tomato seeds on the drier, use your hand to spread it evenly and allow both the air and a light sun light to shine on it. For some period of time, keep your attention on it, checking on it to know when they are ok. When the seeds are dried enough, you now gather them together gradually and carefully.

Preservative Method

To preserve the already dried seed tomatoes, you use empty cement bags. Make sure no cement remains inside it, then pack all the seed into it and tie very tight to avoid air into the sack
So long as the seeds are well tightened inside the sack, they preserved for as long as possible.

Ready For Sale

This woman told me, that these ones she is selling now were washed and preserved since early last year till this year's planting season,
Of course rainy season is the planting season for tomatoes seed.still very fine and good for planting and harvesting. She is measuring it in cups, a cup of seed tomatoes sales for #200 = 2.10 steem.

Can you see, everything is financially important.
If she doesn't know this strategy, she could have been throwing the rotten water from where these seed were made away and loose this income.
