Introduction

Hi all 👋,

I greet y'all in this beautiful Community of. I hope y'all are doing perfectly well. It's been long since I lastly created a post in this community, but I'm glad this engagement has connected us back together. So i'm very honored participating in this engagement challenge contest / S2W1 in this community which is all about "Steem-promo". So, without waisting any time, I will proceed with my entry and I wish y'all happy reading

For this contest, before I will proceed, I will love to appreciate @tenguhatanga, @tangwe-rene and @breeze.com for stepping out with me today as we patrol the whole of University of Bamenda carrying out steemit sensitization

We were able to enter inside the University of Bamenda in other to carry out steemit sensitization which our mission was a success. So below, I will narrate on how the sensitization started and ended

1. What methods did you use in promoting Steem

From the various images above, you will bare with me that I used but my mouth in carrying out the promotion as I boldly preach the gospel of technology which is #steeemit to a large population of students in the University of Bamenda. This is the method I use to use last year during my steemit sensitization. I haven't had a Steemit T-shirt yet but I will give a commander for my steemit t-shirt in days ahead. The word of the mouth is the best for me because it shows how serious you are and how trustworthy you are. So I always succeed using this method when ever I'm to carry out promotion because I will be able to clarify the minds of the people when ever they through me questions sine I'm there to give an answer to any question

2. Did you use any Promotional materials and branding? (fliers, Branded Tshirts, Banners, etc)

We had to use but promotional fliers in carrying out the promotion. All credits go to @breezem.com in providing us with the promotional fliers as he did an #actofkindness work. As I earlier said, though I didn't use tshirts, My team and I had to use but fliers in carrying out the promotion. Inside the fliers, it was written Post & earn. Our various telephone contacts where also written inside this promotion fliers so that people can use it in contacting us if should incase they need our assistance

3. How did people respond to your promotion efforts?

My team and I encountered alot of responses. Some of this responses where very good and encouraging, some where very bad and irritating, while others where moderate responses, others didn't responded at all as they just ignored us.

The ones that responded to use had to ask us alot of questions, were there to give them straight and emmidiate answers. The ones that responded us badly were telling us to stop sharing to them about scamming and online businesses because they don't believe in them. Some where telling us stop preaching them gospel for they are already believers because they thought we where sharing the word of God and they didn't even give chance to hear us out.

Some just ignored us and didn't give us chance to offer a word as they where proving very busy

However, the ones that we successfully talked with them, most of them where really interesting in knowing more about steemit, we sign up 1, some didn't have a telephone since they where in the filed playing ball, some where just from writing exams and their phones where already low since power supply is disturbing in bambili as electricity is constantly going off. Some of the listiners didn't accept to sign up while others didn't offer any word but took the fliers and left and just told us that they will contact us since our telephone numbers where in the fliers

4. What are the main challenges that hinder users from joining?

After carrying out this promotion, I realized alot of challenges hindering people in joining this platform which I will be sharing with you guys below 👇

• The first challenge I realized is that some don't end up signing because steemit is not a get-rich-fast platform. The movement they realized that, they will eventually back off🤣.

• Some didn't have a great knowledge of Blockchain technology and this hindered them in singing up because it will be difficult for them to carry out effective blogging. So they had to diny signing up

• Others didn't sign up because they think steemit is a scam or a Ponzi scheme which they hate most.

• Others didn't like sign up because they have never launch an online hustling before and they they don't believe in online hustling because they are based only in working offline business which is direct direct

• Some didn't sign up because they hate blogging since they said they don't actually like writing and they don't have the patience in learning.

• Internet bundles and data subscription is a challenge especially to less struggling youths who can't afford internet data all the times. So it will be difficult for them to STEEM affective. Some don't even have good phones and this make them too reluctant in Steeming

5. Where you able to sign up new users? If yes, how did you convince them to join?

YES, I was able to sign up new user. Her username is @mambi, I still had to sign up another user but unfortunately her phone was seriously down since they haven't had electricity since morning. However, since @tangwe-rene lives in Bambili, I have assigned him to take care of her register when electricity comes back. As for @mambi, I had to direct her in writing her achievement1 post but unfortunately her phone suddenly went off since it was down.

Before @mambi sign up, we had to talk for close to an hour as she first of all proof-strong as she refused not to have interest in signing up, however, since it's a platform that doesn't requires any fees when signing up an account, also a platform that rewards users just by creating contents, a platform where you get to learn a lot of new things? When we told her all this, she was then interested before accepting to register though she knows quit well that steemit is not a get rich fast platform

We met this newbie at business place as we wanted to buy roasted Maiz. So we used the opportunity to talk to her about steemit and she was so happy at the end after signing up

6. What are the main challenges you faced during Steem Promotion

Steem Promotion is not for the weak🤣 because it has a lot of challenges that if we don't look into before going out for promotion, we can become very frustrated and discouraged most especially with the reactions of people. However, I will be giving some of my challenges

• My first challenge here is is some of the provocative words from people as they provoct us by telling us that we want to introducing scamming or online fake business to them.

• Another challenge i faced was signing up newbies as a result of electric failure as their phones where low. Since it was an exam week, most students didn't want to sign up because they are writing their exams. Some where in the football/hand ball field without their phones. So it was difficult signing them up

• Another challenge i faced was hunger, fatigue and too much sun. Can you imagine we walk round the University of Bamenda under a very hot sun, couple to that, I was very tired and hungry as well. This challenged me alot

• Another challenge is taking to some people, when I saw some people, I felt like not talking to them about steemit because I know they will not be interested about it. However, it always good to give a trial.. I hope I improve on this area in my future Promotion

7. Suggest ways we can overcome challenges to Steem Promotion.

After facing such problems today, I can develop ways by which one can outcome this Challenges. I will be briefing them below 👇

• Since some people give provocative words, it always good to prepare for the worst when going out for promotion. This is because if you are not prepared, you might get angry along the way and eventually spoil your promotion. So it's always good to keep in mind that you will come across such people because they most always be people of that nature. When coming across them, you will be able to control your self and behave normal and gentle

• Another challenge to overcome is that we should always endeavor to tell people exactly what steemit is and not to exaggerate it. Once we present steemit in the right way, people who are destined to be Steemians will eventually signed up. We shouldn't exaggerate things about steemit because we eager that they should sign up.

• We should endeavor to always eat well before going out for STEEM promotion. There is a saying that "a hungry man is an angry man". We might become angry most especially when people whom you try to talk steemit to them misbehave which may eventually turn your hunger into anger 😂😂😂. This usually ends in a negative way which is just as a result of hungry 😂

• As it is, steemit is not a get rich fast platform. Again, it's a platform that users sign up for free. So we should always emphasis to them about this because steemit is a life changer platform and may eventually change the life's of those people who are still struggling to stand.

In conclusion, the STEEM Promotion yesterday was pretty cool and I enjoyed every minute about. With time, @breeze.com and I will be working on a project in establishing steemit literacy center at bambili since it's a populated place full of university students. When this is established, we will use the opportunity in carrying out steem promo on daily or weekly basis
